Around the NFL: News and Rumors

John Dorsey decides that no coach gets to win the power struggle and gets rid of both sides of the toxic coaching battle:

first Hue Jackson is out as HC

and just now Todd Haley has also just been fired as OC
And Lincoln Riley isn't averse to coach in the NFL as he indirectly said in a presser today. We need to fire Harbaugh asap to get Riley. This is the offensive minded genius we need. Imagine him and Lamar....

The past five Browns' head coaches -- Romeo Crennel, Eric Mangini, Pat Shurmur, Rob Chudzinski and Mike Pettine -- were all fired after the second Steelers game of that season.

That's a pretty funny coincidence.

The Browns host the Chiefs Sunday.

That should be fun ...Wonder what the spread is going to be on that one. May be the largest spread in the history of pro footbal.

Funny if you do a google search on Lincoln Riley, there are 20 articles on how the Browns should hire him.

I think those articles should be about them "trying" to hire him. I think the organization is diseased. It doesn't matter that they have a hopeful prospect at QB. The dysfunction clearly runs deep in that organization.

it would have to be a good offer to get riley into the nfl and then it would have to be a really enticing offer to get him to come to any team except the browns given that Baker Mayfield was Riley's college qb

we do have mark andrews and orlando brown though...

My guess is the top 4 offensive-minded HC candidates this offseason are going to be:

John DeFilippo
Lincoln Riley
Dan Campbell
Matt LaFleur

but Eric Bieniemy or Mike Kafka from the Chiefs could be dark horse guys who a team might fall in love with

I don't care who it is, but as long as our next HC is an offensive-minded guy, then I'm good.

Sit everyone when play the Browns can’t let Greg Williams put a bounty on our best players.

Riley shot down any Browns rumors before they could start: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...ers-lincoln-riley-focused-on-oklahoma-not-nfl

I love how he said - I knew this was coming and he're my answer: no (at least for now). He's admitted not closing the door on the concept of coaching in the NFL - which IMO means - I'll listen to offers when the seasons over and I'll look for a better job than the Browns. Or maybe he'll decide to be the next in the series of coaches who were going to be the hero and turn that franchise around because they have Baker. We'll see

@Ice Bowl , I'm so sorry for your loss. According to this article, it seems that the selfish actions of Montgomery was the reason why one of the baddest QBs to ever played this game never got a chance for a potential comeback win.

Holy crap. Disregarding a direct order from the coach on behalf of "the franchise" ... especially after you have a tantrum over the way you're being utilized earlier in the game? I mean, who does he think he is? OMG that has to be his last game as a Packer, right?

They didn't say but he was pulled out earlier for missing a pass block on Donald's sack. Why did they put him back to field that kick, I can't explain. Anybody would be better than mildly deranged player.

Giants backup QB Kyle Lauletta arrested for traffic violation. There goes his chance of starting this season.

Texans closing in on Demaryius Thomas trade.

Big Ben has a broken index finger on his non-throwing hand. Oh poor baby. Drama Queen.
