The Random Thought Thread

If there is a team dumb enough to give up a 2nd round pick please let them. I think Joe would need to go on a tear to get us a second round pick. Then again maybe there’s a coach out there who thinks he can who knows. Let’s call Oakland doesn’t Gruden like Flacco?
Oh there are dumb teams out there that'll readily give up a 2nd rounder if he performs well the rest of the way.... otherwise we'll cut him!! One way or another he'll be gone.

How has Flacco been “garbage tier” this year? He’s played very well in several games and has had an about average season. Chill out with the overreactions
He’s had high highs and really low lows. He was solid in some games but vs cinci, Cleveland, Carolina, and Pittsburgh he was without question garbage tier, that’s half his games. Crabtree gets a lot of blame for losing to Cleveland but joe played really bad throughout.

He’s missed way too many throws and too many reads for me to make excuses anymore. It’s not an overreaction. I’ve stood by Flacco all these years and swore up and down that it was just the garbage team and injuries, but now he’s got a pretty damn talented offense and is healthy and is still rushing, throwing with poor form and reckless abandon, missing reads, and missing throws that winning QBs simply don’t do. I can’t keep defending his shit tier play, at some point when you see enough garbage tier play from your qb, you start to think he’s a garbage tier qb, I’m at that point.

i wouldnt even give up a 3rd for flacco. He is only slightly better than bortles. Gotta understand that once flacco is at that los, everything is up to the OC cause flacco isnt gonna make the necessary reads nor adjustments and thats why he usually dont see the wide open guys in his face.

Do you think thats because hes wants less responsibility for any failures, or is he just not capable? I've wondered that for years but I think its the latter. Flacco is an almost 34yo, inconsistent, average QB with a big arm and $25M a year price tag. The production hasnt matched the cost, period.

In basketball theres a saying that you never want to be stuck in mediocrity for years, if youre not improving you blow it up and rebuild. Obviously its easier to rebuild a 5 man team but we have not improved over the past 5.5 seasons.

Every time Joe gets you excited about his play(early this season) he ends up playing lousy for several games.

We will move on without him after this year , whether we get a draft pick or not.

i would say he isnt capable but at the same time he is an nfl qb with 10+ yrs exp. i mean we have 1st yr players that make presnap adjustments.. i think he just isnt confident at making the changes during presnap.... you know what, he just isnt capable fk that lol. He really ran that lamr reverse straight into the blitzes lol..

Oof only slightly better than Bortles? I’m a better QB than Bortles

The only reason I would keep him is because looking around the league you can see how hard it is to find a capable QB let alone a franchize one, it can be so much worse for us. That said his pricetag and playing level also means we have to hit on drafts to find olinemen and weapons.

Slightly better than Bortles? I demand to know who is your supplier

Same shit, different packaging. They can't win in today's NFL. Not good/skilled enough.

Brock osweiler looked like he was on the uptick and just starting to develop. Flacco has proven that he has regressed to a garbage tier qb for about 3 straight years now.

If I can recall, he got benched in favor for Payton Manning who was obviously one foot out the door. He was awful in his last game before Payton replaced him, not someone I would describe as being on the uptick. Jay Cutler even got 10M just to come out of retirement. Why stop there? Mike Glennon got 45M after being a back up to Jameis in Tampa. Teams will pay for a QB.

We've documented well enough about Harbaugh's flaws, but could you imagine if we had Garrett instead of Harbaugh? Oh lord (*in Stephen A. Smith* voice).

I’m not so sure Flacco’s gone if we retain Harbaugh. He doesn’t have the balls to make a QB change. We need to blow the team up and I fully expect Steve to do so.

Brock was young and was starting for the first time, on the uptick as in teams thought he was the future.

Nobody thinks joe is the future. Cutler and glennon still to this day make no fucking sense what so ever lol, like I can not fathom it at all, and I just can’t reasonably expect that a team would do that again.

Flacco is better than those guys, but I just can’t see it happening. Lessons had to have been learned somewhere along the line. That’s why I’m saying a third and not a second
