The Playoffs, The Playcalling and The Refs

we showed a lot of things this game that were ambiguously effective - used the heisman package a couple of times and resulted in a nice screen to ingram with RGIII threatening a screen/backwards pass to the sideline - the obvious wrinkle at some point is for RGIII to throw it

the wildcat also coming out - not sure i like the ball coming out of lamar's hands especially in those situations - resulted in a mixed bag - one play that went for a 1 yard loss and 1 play that converted a 3rd down for us

but those things are on film now

After the slamdown penalty i think, we got that one right after, which I don't remember what it was or what even happened as to why we got it. anyone have any clue if they know what I'm talking about? what that flag was even about?

we are going to need more of this. I think we need to rest Andrews this week.

we'll see how he is - it is a short week but apparently andrews thinks he'll be ready to go (or at least that's what he appears to have told Harbs) - if it's a thigh bruise type thing then it suggests its some sort of dead leg type deal which is painful but ultimately not a real problem

but it could be a good thing long term if jackson starts getting more comfortable looking for hayden more often given that he's been pretty good at getting open throughout the year also and has incredibly good hands and as we saw today that really crazy speed for a TE - just hasnt quite got the route running nuance that andrews has

jaylon ferguson got called but we never saw the play - they never showed us because the ball went to the other side and they didnt replay it

can we trade humphrey for tre white?

I was utterly unimpressed with humphrey and he seems to give up the big play nonstop. Ball is in the air and you can bet anything humphrey will either grab a guy too early or give up the reception

i think he's become overrated here and in the media. There i said it. Anyone who watches tre white and can say they'd take humphrey over him doesnt know football. White is Fluid, knows when to challenge and is a better playmaker

i think humphrey played better last year

A few thoughts here:

Jackson looked better in the second half. I think he was wearing a glove early? Not sure if he removed the gloves but he removed the sleeves. He didn’t have a great day rushing. He had a bad read and the designed call seemed to be a poor one. Didn’t like the hits he took either. Loved his throw to Hurst though, and he squeezed it tight in for Snead on that last TD.

Humphrey didn’t have the best game because he was late a bit and the WR could’ve caught the ball if memory serves right. I still love him but I didn’t think he had his best.

I didn’t like what I saw from Earl Thomas in run defense and this is a recurring issue. He is often overpursuing in the run and extending too far up and taking himself out of the play. It needs to stop.

I hated how we used Brown this game. It was terrible imo. I know the wind was a factor but come on man don’t call a play behind the LOS against the defense with Brown. I was worried he was going to get lit up back there.

The OL seemed to have some issues as well. We didn’t seem to contain guys as well as normal.

How long can a thigh bruise keep someone out?

It could be a while depending on the severity. I’ve seen it take guys out weeks. IIRC that’s what they said Perriman had in “the lost year”.

odd that this is ross tucker's takeaway but maybe us being so close to this game didnt let us see what was going on lol:
