Nah. Comp picks are nice but bird in hand and all that jazz. The absolute max you can get is a comp3 which is essentially an early 4, in a trade you can potentially get anywhere from a 2 to a late 3 before the comp pick portion.
then there’s the risk of a player going on IR in training camp and your whole formula takes a hit, we’re lucky as shit that somehow we got a 3 for mosley. AND a 3 this year is worth a 4 next year, draft currency right now is just worth way more than a year from now, opting for a 3 next year when we could get a 2-3 this year is essentially settling for an entire round less in value.
and there’s also the bonus of being able to move up using the picks gained from a trade. If we luck out big time and some really stupid team sends us a 2, we would be in position to move up if there’s a falling stud like a kinlaw, brown, chaisson, wirfs, or even one of the big time wrs(this class is so deep that I have a really odd feeling that the 2 and 3 are gonna go much later than we think).
