ive noticed him a lot on the sideline this year during the wired segments too - seems to be fairly prominent on the sidelines - his official title at the moment is "coaching analyst - defense" supposedly as part of the analytics department but seems to be on the sidelines with the players as a gameday coach so would suggest that right now that's the track he's on

I could just be misremembering, but I do think there was a point that he said he wanted to go more in the front office direction... hence the analytics role. But it might be hard for him to pass on an opportunity like that if it came up.

Idc what anyone says. We need a #1 WR and a 2b to Hollywood’s 2a though it could be interchangeable.

Look at the other young QBs in this league and their weapons. Stefon and Beasley have done wonders for Josh. Deshaun and Kyler with Nuk and a a great supporting cast. Herbert with Ekeler, Williams and Allen. Burrow with Higgins and Boyd, Baker with Jarvis, Odell, his TE’s, Higgins, etc.

Give our man some damn weapons. Enough of this bandaid, north side of 30 bullshit. Help his development as a passer so he doesn’t have to put damn near every game on his back with his legs.

Allen Robinson! #SIIE

that's certainly possible - he is currently nominally within the analytics department - i merely pointed at him because he's the only obvious candidate on staff right now to fill in that role and the fact that he's on the sidelines on gameday and clearly has a personal relationship (as a coach/behind the scenes figure) with a lot of the players - just seems like his role right now is more on the coaching side despite that title but im making lots of assumptions based on small snippets and it could be a completely different scenario for the other 6 days a week and he's only fulfilling that role on gameday (which isnt uncommon for some staff to have different roles on gamedays)

They have some interesting roles on that side of things. Based on how they have it structured on the team website, it seems Orr is under Scott Cohen. When Cohen's name came up in the Texans GM search, there was actually some info on what he does. It sounds like they work primarily with the coaching staff, but more on matchups and other obvious analytical stuff. So some coaching aspects and some FO aspects. Could see some aspects of that being a fit but nothing really on the technique and development side IF that is where Orr fits into the equation as well.

I saw Orr a couple of times with the LBs though. Quality control guys are also likely candidates to be promoted to lb's coach.

that's interesting - i didnt notice Cohen coming up for the Texans - id only really been conscious of nick matteo being looked at by the panthers but he's more on the salary cap and contracts side of things

with Orr, I guess he's obviously got the ability to transition because he literally played the position only 4 years ago and on the Ravens with Wink as his coach and made all-pro - i imagine his understanding of the position hasn't deteriorated or lapsed much - the question will be if he's a good teacher and communicator of those things within the coaching framework that already exists

not sure we have any "quality control" coaches this year - that's why i ended up looking outside of the positional coaching staff for a potential LB replacement

the only assistant's assistant on defence right now i think is sterling lucas but he's been cullen's assistant with the DL and if Cullen does get the DC job then you'd imagine Lucas would take over the DL coach job

the only other possibility i see is drew wilkins shifting from OLB to LB job - we haven't always had a specific OLB coach but again his background seems to be in DL - was a DL assistant before shifting to take on the OLBs when Wink became DC and macdonald moved from DBs to LBs - wilkins only shed the DL assistant part of his job this year (albeit not sure if that actually changed any of his responsibilities given how the roles of DL and OLB often overlap)

We aren't on the level of a team like the Chiefs or Packers and probably even the Bills. Watching the game last night a few positions stood out.

We NEED a swing tackle who can step up if Stanley isn't healthy, RT was a big drawback for us this year, especially last night, and we need some better depth there. Orlando Brown played admirably at LT though which is nice but need someone better on other side. Will allow Phillips to shift inside where I think he has a better shot at sticking around. Let people compete for that RG spot this year and see if someone steps up. Not entirely sold on Powers being the answer there, he isn't bad per se but we need an elite O-line to support our running game. I will say if Stanley were healthy for us, Lamar would have hit Hollywood for that game tying touchdown.

We also need to figure out the Center situation. I counted 4 bad snaps last night and there really is no excuse for those at this point in the season. Not sure how the draft is looking here but would be a wise area to use our first round pick if we like a guy.

Wide Receiver would also be ideal although I am not sure how that will happen with limited cap this year. I just don't think drafting someone is the answer given we can't develop anyone. Kinda like the Orioles and developing pitching(at least pre Elias, have some hope we are getting that figured out now). Maybe try to trade for someone ad focus on drafting positions we know we can develop.

I also think if we want to have a realistic chance of beating the Bills or Chiefs in the future, we need a finisher who can get the Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes of the world down on the ground. Allen was more athletic than all our edge guys besides maybe Bowser who is likely gone. Also probably not getting much here but wouldn't mind a project at this point who we can try to develop for the future as unlike WR we CAN actually develop this position.

I don't mean to discount Orr's chances. If he's working under Cohen in a similar manner, it's definitely a much different role than positional coaching. He might work with the LBs but that doesn't necessarily mean he's out there teaching them technique or things like that.

But it also doesn't mean he can't do it. His role just seems to be quite different if it's at all similar to what Cohen and his crew have been doing.

Honestly, if you would have told me we were going to the divisional game without Ronnie, a makeshift offensive line, Snead, Boykin and Dez as your options opposite Hollywood and no Boyle before the season started, I would’ve laughed and said onto the 2021 offseason. Lots of changes to be made, but pretty dope to at least see us overcome all of that and COVID.
Yeah nothing to be ashamed of, the Bills are good. We played badly but we weren't beating the Chiefs or Packers this year. At least we got that playoff win against the Titans.

My last post to some of you I know will be glad to hear that.

Obviously I want us to win a SB even if that means more Harbaugh which I'm pretty certain we won't until he's gone. Until then ima just do what I did before Lamar came here and fall back cause it's to stressing the last 3 years brought back so much bad memories it's ridiculous and not healthy lol.

So with that being said the only thing I'd like to see us do here and this is me caving...is to go out pay up for ARob AND Curtis Samuel! Also if I'm not mistaken Mo Ali Cox will be a FA and we should definitely bring him in on the 1st day of FA no bs. Maybe look at Will Hernandez..Other than that I believe we have all the pieces we need. Draft wise not in any particular order...Asante Jr., Ossai, Paddy Fisher, a few Oline and Max Duffy in the 7th. Please and thank you. Peace yall.

So with one game remaining in the divisional round.... NFL Draft Order update. So the Browns are locked into the 26th overall pick, now based on who wins between Saints and Bucs, we are locked into the 27th or 28th overall pick. If the Saints win, we are once again picking from the 28th Overall Pick. If the Buccaneers win, then we will have the 27th overall pick.

In 2011, the Falcons had the 27th overall pick and jumped to the 6th Pick to draft Julio Jones. Would anyone be interested in trading up into the top 10 if DeVonta Smith or Ja'Marr Chase was there at 6?

This year I just don't see it. We don't have as much draft picks as we used to have in the past. Remember we traded our 3rd for Ngakoue and a 5th round pick to vikings for Proche.

we wont do a massive trade up ever for anyone unless someone like chase young were to be available (or we were going up for a QB) - and even then they probably wouldnt anyway

and ive only just started tape watching properly but i will say that what i saw on the justin jefferson tape last year doesnt scream top 15 pick to me from Chase - depending on how the rest of the class comes out as i watch i have a sneaking suspicion chase might fall to the 20s or even out of the 1st round

but that's just my first glance not locking that in at all

God no. I like your thinking JO, but not with our track record of “developing” WR’s. I’d rather send a huge haul like that for someone who’s already a superstar.

i literally just did a ton of study on ja'marr chase to start of the draft process and while he has a super high ceiling - he is nowhere near the dominant, polished finished product you'd want in a guy you mortgage the future for - he gets absolutely dominated by athletic corners who press him and his best trait is his ability at the catch point which requires 2 things... 1) a great and accurate deep ball thrower and 2) the QB's trust to give him a chance even when he's not got any separation

those are not qualities i'd say are a great fit with lamar

you love the fact that Chase can bail you out if your accuracy's slightly off but he also gets washed out of way too many plays by press and doesn't scare corners at all - it's possible he can have a multi-pro-bowl career but i really dont love the fit with Lamar and the fit with an organisation that doesnt have a great track record developing WRs lol

I love this thinking. Allen Robinson + someone like Samuel. I wonder how much Corey Davis will command. My 66 year old mother who loves Lamar even says he needs a true #1 AND a good compliment to said #1 and Hollywood lol. I’d even like a Higgins or Marvin Jones. We need to go all-in on offense this off-season like we did on defense last offseason. Dez, Boykin and Snead are not even viable 3 or 4’s, let alone 2’s.
