Dupree will be well out of our price range. Even if he doesn't get a long term deal, many teams in the league would give him a one year pact at like $10-12M, even off an ACL injury, since that would be heavily discounted from his market rate.

We won't have anywhere near the cap space to be taking on a $10-12M cap hit for anybody, so that's likely out of the question.

Reddick is interesting. He has a ton of red flags in terms of a guy who's production skyrocketed in the last year of his rookie deal, which is usually big red flag for large FA spend. But he could be somewhat discounted compared to the others.

I probably wouldn't put Reddick any higher or lower than somebody like Yannick or Judon based on that, so it would just come down to price range.

Reddick is definitely interesting. Looked like a bust before this year so it carries some risk, but they also had him trying to be that all around off-ball LBer. This year, they just let him loose as a pass rusher and he looked a lot more like what people were expecting. 5 sacks in one game obviously inflates those numbers but still put up 12.5 on the year which is not bad at all. Really curious to see how he gets evaluated. Not sure he's necessarily a fit here since he's very undersized, but happy for the guy and hope he gets an opportunity to continue to be a rusher wherever he goes.

The Browns have a lot of cap room... Question remains about OBJ. Still has 3 years left, but do they try to deal him? That would save them another 15m. They're 21m under now according to OTC. That worries me, because we had Jarvis Landry until they swooped in... He is just what this team needed AND EDC and Ozzie knew it.

Well, couple things here...

1. An OBJ trade only gets them about $3M in cap savings before June 1. He has nearly $12.8M in dead money with a pre June 1 cut or trade. So the cap savings isn't really that significant. It would be after June 1 where significant savings exist. So if they're moving him, its certainly not for the cap space.
2. Keep in mind that Cleveland has some pretty key defensive players who are now UFAs this offseason, which includes Olivier Vernon, Karl Joseph and Larry Ogunjobi, as well as some of their depth at Corner.

So they'll either be re-signing some of those guys, which will cut into cap space, or needing to replace them.

Cleveland's entire offseason should be focused on upgrading the defensive side of the ball. Adding Watt would do that, but I'm also not sure that adding Watt, while letting Ogunjobi and Vernon walk, makes their defense a lot better. They could use help at just about every level.

It could be getting cap savings for 2 years from now given that they are about to have to pay big money for a QB and need to save every cent they can.

“Jones, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection, saw his string of seven straight 1,000-yard-receiving seasons end in 2020, as injuries limited him to nine games. Still, his 771 receiving yards would have led the Ravens.”

Yikes , i know Julio Jones is a beast but that stat line is down right depressing. We gotta get Lamar some help. Hopefully there are some day two gems out there

Well technically the first time Baker will be really expensive is for the 2023 season, since he'll likely get his 5th year option picked up this offseason for 2022. He won't be cheap in 2022, but he'll be very affordable.

Plus, if they need the cap space in two years, then they could just cut or trade him in 2 years. This would be the worst year to trade him:
1. You don't get significant cap savings.
2. His value has never really been lower, coming off an unproductive season AND a major injury
3. He has a pretty decent sized salary, which teams would have to take on, in a year with a declining salary cap.

Note also there is no dead money on his deal after 2021. So if you need cap space for 2022 or 2023, you cut or trade him before those seasons, with no cap repercussions. Creates the same amount of space for those seasons as it would trading him now.

He said shitty things, for sure, but was there DV? I don’t recall hearing anything close to DV, only that he knocked one up and said some ignorant shit about it
There's an open investigation regarding it, which has non-existent details and is still pending and likely will be for awhile.
Regardless, the amount of money he will want will be the disqualifier. I see no reason why he can't get $15M a year on a multi-year deal with somebody.

he's under investigation for DV - no matter what the outcome is, that means he's almost certainly not in consideration even before you take into account money etc.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Truthfully I don't see us landing Watt if his motive is money and Von may be out of our range. I do think we could end up surprisingly signing Scherrff from Washington or Thuney from the Patriots to improve the line but that still leaves a hole at RT if we trade Orlando.

Could we get some mock off-season action?

Could we get some mock off-season action?

Give it my best.

First off cuss out Earl Thomas for costing us 10 mil this year. Thanks Earl. You p.o.s

Right now we have 18,273,773mil right now according to OTC and in the back of our minds we have to remember even bigger contracts come up next year with Lamar and Andrews and we have to have a good sense of how much the cap will raise.

First off I would trade Zeus Jr and lets just say to the Jags for their 2nd and I would push hard for a 2022 1st. I would settle for a 2nd in 2022 and their 4th in 2021 if I couldn't get the 1st in 2022 and I'm not flipping a 5th for a 4th or none of that shit. We pick up draft capital but this opens up a massive hole at RT but I don't want somebody that's unhappy playing there. This gives us another 3.384 mil and gives us a grand total of 21,667,773 mil.

Next there are 3 players considered "cuttable". Marcus Peters(9.4 mil in savings), Campbell (6 mil) and big bear in the middle (7.5 mil). Peters I would talk some sort of extension since his cap hit is actually lower in 2022 than 2021 (EDC stroke of genius) hopefully freeing up close to 3 mil. Campbell is a a tough one but I'd see if he 'd take a paycut from 10 mil base salary down to 7 freeing up another 3 mil. Big Bear I'd probally leave alone, let it expire and just work 1 or 2 yr deals with him until he retires. Just love an all time Raven plus I'm scared he'd eat me if I tried to take any of his lunch money. So with these moves we'd have 27-28 mil on our hands and we'd probally have to subtract 7 mil lets say for rookie contracts leaving 20-21 mil.

Next sign our own Derek Wolfe and Jihad Ward. Wolfe just cuz he's an ace on this defense and I just see so much in Ward I'm resigning both on 3 yr deals. McPhee on a 1 yr deal is also on the radar. The OLB situation? Here's music to your ears bro. Buh bye Judon. Thank you very much for your service but 17 mil............. don't let the door hit you where mother nature split you. I'm signing either Ngakwoue or Bowser. Probally not both. Ngakwoue would be my primary cuz he's straight up passrusher and I think an offseason in Wink's system is gonna make us happy. 3 yr 45-48 mil but lets just say no more than 16 mil avg and we may have to backload a little and pray the cap seriously jumps but we definitely want some sort of contract where he's cuttable after 2 yrs. Bowser is also valuable at the SAM but I'm thinking at minimum he's a 13 mil player and I would try if I couldn't keep Ngakwoue. No way I'm letting all 3 walk. At WR boy am I interested in Curtis Samuel. What this offense needs is not true WR's but what I like to call "weapons" and he fits the bill. Slants, screens, jet reverses. All kinds of shit you can use him for. Snead I'm not resigning and for veterans I'm riding again with the three of Boykin,Dev and Proche and hoping somebody steps up. OLine? We have a surplus of guards I'm riding with and I hate signing UFA's costing comp picks and with the talent I'm seeing in the draft would love to go at least 2 picks on oline in the first 2 days. As of now with my scenario we got 4 picks. For oline I would go more for cheap free agent at RT after the comp deadline passes but also as I said the draft where C and OT is what I'm looking at.

Not going to get into the draft except I'm definitely wanting oline since it seems to be a strength but when it comes to a blueprint for the offseason I think with the cap going down in general we have to be realistic in who and what we can get and how you want to backload. Backloading can fuck you in the end and we have Lamar and Andrews coming up. So important!!!

So if we have lets say 20-21 mil after rookie contracts can we fit Wolfe,Samuel,Ward,McPhee and Yannick on this team. I hope so. #SIIE
