So let me ask, should we just add people at the position just for the hell of it just because we need a solid pass rusher? Because we already have depth pieces, a mix of youth and veteran

This is actually a horrendous take on it because we have a much different DC lmao

Yes that’s exactly what I’m saying and it’s something we’ve done consistently/ successfully over the years as an organization. Quality veteran players have been instrumental to our success so I’m surprised you seem so confused by this strategy.

Who is a proven veteran pass rusher on our team? Judon, Ngakoue, and Ward are all gone. Are you referring to McPhee or Wolfe? Yikes

Sure we have depth , which consist of average- below average or unproven(rookies) players. It’s a serious gamble to roll into the season with sack daddy Ferguson and Bowser. It’s unfair to expect Oweh to produce immediately, hopefully he does, but I’m guessing next year will be his time to really shine.

Random question.. but who would you guys say is a better CB right now? Marlon or Jaire? Had this debate with a friend and I leaned with Jaire. Taking the purple shades off of course.

I had Lattimore over Marlon prior to last year as well. But lattimore had a bumpy last season, so Marlo jumped him on my list

Depends. What exactly do you desire from your CB?

I think jaire is better..i honestly feel like wrs catch the ball too much on marlon.

That’s why it depends. Do you want a tougher, more physical, more versatile and a bit of a better playmaker, or do you want a better pure coverage guy? Not any one size fits all

Yea id go with marlon..all the best wrs in nfl right now outside of hill are big and physical.. marlon plays slot at the highest level also ...and is great in run game.

since 2017 or 18, can't remember. Marlon is the only corner with a grade above 80 (pff isn' everything) in both the slot and boundary. I think he is two. I'd go with Marlon if I needed a corner and all the other players were available.

Yea I think it is a bit unfair to judge Marlon fully without him being able to play outside full-time. No one in the league is as versatile as him and he is one of the best playmakers.

At the end of the day every cb is going to give up some catches and big plays it's the nature of the game. that is why I really support Marlons ability to make game changing plays consistently and big tackles when needed.
He does surely get exposed sometimes but we also lack pass rush and I wouldn't dare say Chuck or Deshan are the best sideline coverage safeties out there

The only thing Marlon really needs to work on is tracking the ball better. Quite a few catches that Marlon gives up could have been avoided if he just tracked it better. If he could improve that even slightly then he'll start to get more INTs and then really be considered one of the best corners in the league (he's already regarded as among the best, in most circles, but there are still some out there who are sleeping).

I think jaire is better..i honestly feel like wrs catch the ball too much on marlon.

partly that's because he's been forced to play the slot

but the fact that he's played at a high level even at that position as opposed to outside just shows you how absurd his athletic skills are at his size

i might still take jaire over him but i dont think it's clear cut
if i was to rank the top guys right now i'd probably say:

1) Ramsey
2) Jaire
3) Humphrey
4) Tre White

a bit of a gap

5) Gillmore
6) Howard
7) Bradberry
8) Ward
9) Lattimore
10) Marcus Peters

a bit of a gap to the next group which would contain guys like (in no particular order)

William Jackson
JC Jackson
Byron Jones
Carlton Davis
Kyle Fuller
etc.

but those top 4 are fairly interchangeable - i think the only one i wouldnt think has a chance to be number 1 is Tre but otherwise you could reorder those 4 in any other order and id say you'd have a pretty decent argument

Yea i def agree.. top 4 are the most consistent so its really hard to not have them there.. i also think ward is on his way up, could possibly be a top 5 cb ..

I know tre is nice but other besides college and live game play i never really actually watched him to analyze... is he really like that though? Lol

he's overrated in the sense that many people have him way ahead of the pack and dont question it

but he probably is still the best CB in the league - but the others are close enough that there's valid arguments that he's not

I agree. I just don’t see pure shut down from him a la Revis/Sherman/other CB greats in their primes, and I don’t see the playmaking levels of Charles Woodson/others either

i think in the modern era we'll never see anyone shut down anyone like Revis did - it's too difficult to not get got at least once especially with some of the creative route concepts that teams throw at defences

pat peterson will probably go down as one of the top 2 corners of the last decade but he wasn't shut down by any means...
