true, but 23m is already on the books for the 5th year option. I suspect Lamar's first year will go up a bit, but its not like it will be the avg annual salary in the first year.

Now when I #SIIE Increase in Cap, I'm referring to future years where it is supposed to go up quote a bit with the new contracts. Of course contracts will follow. Lets hope it goes up enough for us to squeeze some of these players under the cap.

For me, I'm not sure it matters. If it's just like a 6th or 7th round pick, I'm probably not trading any of them. If it's a 5th rounder or better (which it almost certainly wouldn't be), I'd trade probably any of them.

In all seriousness, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a purposeful leak. I don’t think we’re happy with really any of the guys sans Murray right now. Probably us still looking for other options and seeing if we can drum up some interest on the current guys should we be able to make a move. We probably aren’t (nor should we be) beholden to any of the current 4.

yeah i find it odd that a team would be interested in our group... they're in the most RB friendly offence in the league and the running game hasnt been working that well - would suggest these guys arent desirable assets for other teams...

If there’s any team that values the running game enough to seek a trade it’s them.

they need a running game to take some load off of Lance. And all of their guys are either hurt or sucks. They’re like the 1B to our 1A when it comes to injuries to the RB group.

I get that it's farfetched. Like obviously. The only logic is that the lions suck and that he's probably slightly underperformed for his draft position. If they want to aquire picks they could probably add in someone like Ty'Son and not see a dramatic dropoff because they're bad. On the Ravens end, he's on a rookie deal and wouldn't cost much. Then if it's for basically like a 4th it's not that different than drafting a late round guy next year. We were looking to upgrade over Hill this year. Didn't really happen. I don't think JK, Gus, and Swift would not be worth having. I think the limiting part is all on the Lions in this case as it should be.

I feel you. I don't think many if us would be super thrilled with a 3rd round running back in next year's draft. We just have so many 4ths though. It would be fleecing them, but EDC has done crazy things.

Agreed that you'd have to be pretty stupid to make that trade. That's why it won't happen. But I just like to imagine that EDC thinks about all the ways he can victimize the stupider GMs of the league. Obviously understand it won't happen.
