Well in some ways, we've kind of evolved. Like it really doesn't do Aaron Donald a lot of good to just do like BodyBuilding-level steroids, because he'll be a less effective football player. He'll be bigger and stronger, but he'll also be less agile, have weaker lateral movement, etc.
I'm pro just about anything that involves athletes being bigger, stronger, faster, and better at what they do. And I'm also pro anything that allows athletes to recover from injuries faster, which is what like half of the human growth hormone and other things on the market do. I don't care how they compare to athletes from decades ago, and I don't care if some athletes decline to use it and feel "slighted" by it.
I think there's a false, antiquated view point that softening on PED usage means it'll be like 1980 Soviet Union, with athletes shooting anabolic steroids in their ass 20 minutes before the game. I highly doubt it.
