I don't know if that was Roman or Huntley not letting the play develop. Even I assume Roman wouldn't be dumb enough to call that play on 4th and 6.

browns blitzed at the crucial moment and played man behind it

sometimes the other team just makes a play - if the coverage isnt as good as it was then bateman's clean free over the middle for probably a game winning play
