This is kinda my hope coming out of this, although I'm not entirely convinced it'll happen. We have some talented players and I'd love to see them put in more positions to win 1 on 1 matchups. I totally understand the essence of a 2 gap scheme and how it can be effective but I feel like the NFL is trending so far away from that and it's time to adjust.

I still see a lot of 2 gapping responsibilities though. Feels like the DL are often just out there to clear out the mud for other guys to make plays. Which again has some merit but I think we have some guys there (and hopefully some more to add) that can make plays themselves.

I hope we switch to a 4-2-5 package which means we can also move on from BWill or a NT in general.
I expect them to fire Roman until Monday.
But in the end I see why it made sense to move on for either party. Wink may also be a great college HC who i think has got recruiting talent

I’d love this. I’d love to get lighter and more athletic up front, but where would Bowser play?

Genuinely stunned by this move

got to think the timing is a confluence of 2 things

1) were about to rebuild the defence so if we’re going to change philosophy now is the time to do it before we’re about to add a loaf of new parts
2) harbs already knows who’s replacing him - no way he makes this move if he doesn’t 100% know who the successor is

which makes me think it’s 3 guys: Chris Hewitt, Anthony Weaver, Mike McDonald (back from Michigan)

I'm fine with Hewitt and McDonald. I'm not sure Weaver did great as DC of the Texans when he had really good players... not very impressed.

he's one of the most obvious 3 options: mike macdonald, chris hewitt, anthony weaver

the 2 slightly less obvious options who might be in play are joe cullen and drew wilkins

1 small note that's now suddenly relevant - D'anton lynn has been sent down to the east-west shrine game to be the HC and Drew Wilkins at DC

Step on any toes? Jim should be thanking big brother for loaning him MacDonald to save his image. Went from being on the hot seat and having to take a paycut to getting a raise and NFL HC considerations again thanks to his defense turning around.

Tbh, after all those injuries…. I feel wink has learned a whole lot.. i mean pass rushers may not prosper in his system still but overall im sure he gained alot knowledge this season
