it's especially difficult this year if you're looking for a good fit in a power/gap-scheme - lots of C prospects in this class are sub-300lbs and very much zone-specialist types

i think if we find a C in this draft class it's most likely gonna be a guy we convert from OT or OG (a bit like what we did with mekari) - i think there are some ok candidates for that... jamaree salyer's name hasnt come up anywhere that ive seen as someone who might convert inside to C if asked but he's one of the few T/Gs in the class who actually has experience at C in college (back in 2019)

but more likely that we're not gonna find one unless the ravens are somehow (unlikely) in love with linderbaum at 14

I would be OK with this even if he goes to the Bengals. I like Tretter. Maybe Wink makes good on his Averett is a pro bowl Cb comment.

because if it's not them then we're looking at guys like billy price or matt paradis and that's a dark place to be lol

I’m not a fan of Linderbaum. I’m very worried about him at the next level going against guys like Donald or guys like Heyward in our division. I think he’s good not great. We can get a great player at 14.

i mean idk that there's a C in the league who wouldnt be worried about donald lol (although he mostly spends his time beating up on guards on the rare occasions he's left single-blocked)

but you're absolutely right that heyward is the kind of guy who's ideally suited to dominate linderbaum - him and alualu at NT too for the steelers... that's tough - maybe he can handle it but i saw him struggle with a couple of heyward kind of guys in college too

BPA at 14 - almost certainly gonna be CB or EDGE - if it's OT then either something crazy good or crazy frustrating has happened - and if it's DT then that's fine i guess

but i'd be stunned if BPA at 14 was Linderbaum

pretty good - especially if he comes cheap - run-stuffing nose tackle with some athleticism albeit not a ton of pass rush prowess - was one of the best run stuffers in football from 2017-2019 (and was a pro-bowl alternate in 2019 for whatever that's worth), opted-out in 2020 and then had a bit of a disappointing year in 2021

would be a good piece to add to the DL and lock down a decent starter at NT to replace BWill

we'll have to see how stephens develops with regards to bringing him down to the LoS and/or putting him in the box - but as a former RB i imagine he'll like the opportunity to go and blitz if Macdonald gives it to him

think we could definitely see him line up in the slot a lot although he's a little longer than dax and dax is crazy fluid so their not replicas of each other

but definitely could see macdonald replicate some of his usage with stephens and especially use stephens's versatility to help disguise

i dont think anything's happened with ZDS with anyone today - no rumours or comments or anything at all
which ironically makes it more likely that the ravens are doing something because EDC's a silent assassin lol

but to answer honestly, i think the silence means absolutely nothing - same as the silence on all the RTs etc. guys are just waiting and teams are waiting - need a domino to fall to set it all off

Different circumstances though. Those two players would do substantially better in the market than Clark, and trading them at that time was more about getting max value out of them before they walk in free agency.

That wouldn't be the case with Clark.

It was also because they asked to be traded and we obliged. Pretty simple math there. We’re lauded as a franchise for that stuff because we do work with players.

i lean tretter right now but i dont feel that strongly either way and bozeman's got a better chance of out-performing his deal after only 1 year at C

True that, Bozeman could very well outperform his deal.

Tretter is without question a better player, imo it’s not really close, but Boze is a dude in that locker room, that wouldn’t be the worst value, he might mess around and make a big leap in year 2 at center too.

I just don’t know if he’s ever gonna be tretter level, so it’s hard for me to pay him equal, but if the ravens do I can’t be too mad. I really Don’t wanna see him leave

That’s a good point, and you know Bozeman knows our system and would be less time to study playbook and learn system.

Marcus Williams vs the bucs is awesome - you can see him playing a chess match with tom brady (you can see why drew brees has talked about not understanding how he gets where he gets on the field and how he somehow ends up with the ball lol)

would recommend watching the saints vs bucs games this year if you have access to the all-22

the unfortunate side-effect of signing a free safety is that you rarely see them in the broadcast film lol
