Signings, Cuts, Trades

You can have that optinion for sure but that's not what you said. You talked about his effort not his price. Also, his price is quite low
Lol I've never talked about his effort. All i said was he's going to play 20-30 snaps a game because run stuffing NTs come off the field in our scheme on obvious passing and 3rd downs

Am i the only one who doesn't like the Pierce signing? Why do we keep paying players who only play 35% of all snaps and aren't great pass rushers?
I like Pierce don't get we wrong, but i don't see the benefit of it

that's what nose tackles cost - it's not like we gave him the brandon williams deal
like we do have to play a nose tackle, and it's rare that rookie nose tackles play much in the NFL - if we want to have a functioning run defence we needed a nose - so we got one...

Yea I just saw that. 8 games with 3 sacks for a NT is crazy lol. Minnesota always gets the most out of their pass rush though. I hope MM brings that to the table for us. Like @cdp, I was kinda ehh at first, probably because of the Z debacle, but this is a low risk signing that brings a lot of upside and a familiar face back to town. I'm with it

3 sacks is cool but his pressures went that high - and he wasnt rushing much on 3rd down - sacks and pressures from pierce will be a bonus if they come, and he's definitely a better pass rusher than brandon williams was but his value is predominantly still going to be on 1st down and against the run

I think the difference is Tucker gives his all, there's a question about Pierce doing same. But I'm sure the Ravens have done their homework and know what they're getting.

where has this narrative come from?
he turned up to camp overweight once... and then worked his ass off (literally) and earned himself a big contract elsewhere that same year...

like he admits he made a mistake but it's not like he didnt fix it as quickly as he could

I already answered this question:RSR which apparently is terrible. I did not know.

NT can be had for less. 5.5m average for a NT in a two gap scheme - sorry I'd rather spend the noney elsewhere.

who are the good nose tackles not on a rookie contract who can be had for less?

harrison phillips just got 6.5m/yr to replace pierce in minnesota

ogunjobi just got 13.5m/yr

5.5m/yr is less than the going rate in this free agency window - and also worth noting that only 6.5m(ish) is guaranteed...

Ojabo fucking injured at his pro day

oh man that sucks - i hope he got that pre-draft insurance because he's gonna drop if this is a ligament tear... would be hard pressed to play in 2022 if it is

i hope for his sake this is a sprain or something that doesn't require surgery and he gets lucky but that's really awful

1. OK, but saying all of that, I'd give the Saints and Falcons, with their current roster, + Deshaun Watson, a much, much, much better chance of being a playoff team than I would giving Cleveland, with their current roster + Deshaun Watson.

Like Cleveland would be the best team out of the four, and probably be the least likely to make the playoffs at the same time.

2. $35M AAV isn't all that relevant anyway. Any team acquiring Watson is getting the balance remaining of his contract, which is 4 years at $137M. The key is it's only two years of guaranteed money, at a total of $72M. The great part of any acquiring team is the Texans made his deal salary heavy, which makes it easy for teams to convert to bonuses and prorate. He'll play at least 3-4 years with whatever team gets him and probably never have a cap hit close to $40M.
To me, panthers has the best roster.

If he drops, how far and when do you take him? I mean he'll be a good red shirt candidate to heal up before playing in 2023.

Worst part is that the wire was realistic for its time, now reality is worse than the show.

And while Baltimore is a shithole, the entire city isn’t, and most of the bad in Baltimore is still a bit of a subculture thing. Its not like Middle East where we could get beheaded just being an outsider lol
Best show ever and super realistic for its time got dam the good ole days lol..

the problem, specifically in his case, is that he's developmental - so not only are you taking someone who likely cant play in year 1, they also cant practice in year 1 too

id imagine he'll still go somewhere in R2 but i doubt it's early

colts took dayo odeyingbo who tore his achilles in january 2021 in the pre-draft process at 54 last year but worth noting that they'd already picked an EDGE in round 1 in kwity paye

odeyingbo did manage to return at the end of october but didnt make much of an impact coming off that injury

a lot of those injury concerns guys went in the 2nd round last year - the OL guys went a bit earlier... Landon Dickerson at 37, Teven Jenkins at 39, Walker Little at 45 but the other positions all seemed to go post-50:
Azeez Ojulari
JOK
Dayo Odeyingbo

last year's class was exceedingly strong at the top and through round 2 - so it's possible that this slightly weaker class at the top elevates him but i'd say roughly 45 is where i'd set the over/under for Ojabo right now if it is a tear he's got (and that's not because that's where the ravens pick)

would really suck if this meant he did a brockers and went back to cincinnati
i imagine this has something to do with his foot surgery

I wonder if Goldman is still visiting today
