none whatsoever - but also remember we've got ricard who played a lot more in-line TE last year in Boyle's absence and did a lot of the things we expect a TE3 to do on gamedays

i imagine we will draft one on day 3 for sure anyway because it's an apparently deep TE class in the middle-to-late rounds (i havent got to the TEs yet in my grading)

i actually think it's more likely that we'd be looking for a developmental traitsy guy who offers some receiving traits more than an out-and-out eric tomlinson style blocker because those traitsy guys are more likely to be able to cover should Andrews go down and also are more likely to be justifiably activated on gamedays to play on special teams - id be surprised if we looked to the draft for a blocker at TE
yeah I think okonkwo could be a sneaky want for the ravens, he really shows a lot of what Hayden hurst did here on film

I don't think Campbell is coming back. Always thought it was weird that he said he wanted to retire or was at least considering it but then said he wanted to go through a normal FA period. I mean that's not a guy who's intent on coming back. Doesn't mean that he couldn't still come back but that certainly wasn't the priority.

The longer it goes you could argue the better the chance he comes back. And for a guy like Ricard that is always going to be true. For a guy like Calais, I think the longer it goes on the less chance he's coming back.

He could have signed for us at any point really and he just hasn't. I personally think he's gone.

Can someone make an updated offensive and defensive depth chart after Pat signed today so I can see all of our talent on both sides and be happy again

here to fight more fires whenever im needed lol...
et voila

Offence:
QB: Lamar, Huntley
RB: JK, Gus, Justice Hill
FB: Pancake Pat, Ben Mason (lol)
TE: Mark Andrews, Nick Boyle, Josh Oliver
WR: Hollywood, Duvernay, Boykin
WR: Bateman, Tylan Wallace, Proche
LT: Stanley
LG: Tyre, Cleveland, Powers
C: Mekari?, TCC
RG: Zeitler
RT: Moses, James

Defence:
DT: Wolfe (is he still gonna be here?), Broderick Washington
DT: Madubuike
NT: Pierce, Isaiah Mack
EDGE (RUSH): Oweh, Ferguson
LB: PQ
LB: Welch, Harrison
EDGE (SAM): Tyus, Daelin Hayes
CB: Marlon, Marshall (needs to not be cursed)
SS: Chuck, Geno, TJ
FS: Williams
CB: MP, Kevon Seymour
DB: Brandon Stephens (also safety), Ardarius Washington (also safety)

then obviously the wolfpack 2.0 (they've got to find a better name for it than that without morgan cox lol) on special teams

Not much missing on offence beyond a C upgrade over mekari and a swing tackle - a C upgrade over Mekari might be enough on its own because Mekari could then be the swing tackle although you probably want to see if you can find a developmental swing tackle anyway - other than that you're looking at RB depth and maybe a TE3

Lots of work to do on defence basically everywhere but some of it is depth but we need to find: at least an EDGE, at least 2 corners but more likely 3 (and probably at least one has to be able to play the nickel unless they're already sold on Washington), a LB or 2, multiple DTs

some of that will be fixed with low level signings like if we can find a way to re-sign westry and bring back bynes or board at LB, and the picture at DT looks very different if Calais comes back - but either way those things need to happen either in free agency over the coming months (doesnt even necessarily need to be pre-draft) or in the draft

Could it be possible the Ravens are prioritizing signing Campbell before trying to sign Tretter? Not that one necessarily has to do with the other but could it be a money thing? Pay Campbell first abd see what's left

certainly possible if they're both looking for short deals (which may be likely given their age) - that may well complicate it cap-wise for either or both coming here

i dont really get why they're shopping him (if they are)

his contract is super cheap but it would be a 1 year rental type (unless we want to extend him)... i feel like another team would give up more though but i think id happily give up a day 2 pick if that's what it took

we dont need another WR but the idea of him, Bateman and Hollywood for Lamar to throw to is outrageous - would definitely advocate for giving up a day 2 pick to make that happen
I mean, not every GM in the league is competent. I'm not even gonna entertain this because I highly doubt that he'll even be available (and yes, I COMPLETELY realize my hypocrisy with my previous comments).

On a somewhat related note, I did find it cool that we have a UK fan of one of the teams in the DMV area commenting on a tweet from a UK fan of the OTHER team in the DMV area. Carry on lol.

Hell yea! Thanks bro! I feel better lol

i almost dont care that much about the film with TEs - the position in the draft historically where traits and measurables matter the most because college teams just dont use TEs much and so the guys that produce in college are either freaks like Kyle Pitts or they went to colleges that use TEs which can make it hard to differentiate

okonkwo is certainly a traitsy guy with that explosion he has, same as a guy like jelani woods who's as tall as a tree but runs really fast lol - id rather spend day 3 picks on those kinds of guys than day 2 picks on some of these other guys - although if someone like greg dulcic started falling later in round 3 then he'd be a cool kind of pickup (even if im not particularly keen on drafting TEs high)

You could be right. Since they seem to want him back, I was thinking if he gets no other offers, he would return but maybe he just retires instead.

i dont - breaking down that defence made me feel a lot worse about our depth
but i have to remind myself that it's not even been a week since free agency opened and a lot of the guys filling some of the defensive depth will be vet minimum guys who we already have a certain comfort level with - i think even if we just managed to get chris westry back at the minimum that would instantly make me feel better about the depth on this defence lol

The defense is a mess. It will get better but will never be perfect. That imperfection may be ok if you get the damn OL in order.

I'm beginning to think we should draft Davis in Rd1 and Odjabo in Rd2. Then a CB and a T in rd.3. Sign another CB in FA and a C, hopefully Tretter

It's funny cause they could have drafted him the year before
Equally funny is if the NFL suspends him for the year (granted I think it will be 8-12 games but it is not impossible they try to due 1 year to look strong) then the Browns will have signed him to effectively a 4 year 230 million dollar deal where he will get all but 1.035 million (this year salary) or 57.5 million AAV.

Edit: math is hard

my guess is that the issue with price is that he's likely a 1 and done (no way if he was mulling retirement this year that he'll still be playing 2023) which makes it harder for us to fit him into the cap given we refuse to do void years (for good reason)

not saying on out of hand because that would be a ridiculous haul of talent
but at that point you shouldnt expect to see your 2nd round pick play until 2023 which is tough when you're looking for the class to have an early impact

If it gets done, I'd imagine it's an Villanueva type of deal where it's a 1 year deal dressed up as a 2 year deal
