it works for as long as they get good play out of the guys they choose to pay - their formula is robust and successful but also fragile if they have a draft or 2 without any contributions from the mid-rounds or if a major big-money signing busts on them - neither of those 2 things have happened yet and while they dont, it's sustainable (as long as they get good QB play)

What's gonna hurt about this FA period is that in addition to losing out on 2 guys we really wanted, we're gonna get have no comp picks for next year. That's really not great when you're going to need to draft well with last cap space from paying your QB

We didn’t really lose any of our guys to big free agent money. Bozeman and Averrett went hella cheap. So we didn’t miss much.

Yeah we definitely and obviously don't deserve any. It's just that's pretty rare territory for us

i think that's been one of the reasons they've been reportedly in on basically everyone on defence - no comp picks to protect

at a rough count right now im looking at a maximum of 43ish roster guys and not all of them are gonna make it - assuming we add a few more vets to the roster and also allow for some injuries id say there's definitely room for 10 rookies maybe even more than that tbh...

of course adding future picks is always great but every time he talks about the draft this year EDC's been talking about adding picks in this draft
