I really want Cleveland to win the job because I've seen enough of Powers and although Tyree hasn't got a full shot at G, he's just very fragile. Ideally Cleveland takes a big step and is sturdier and it's his job. He's doing himself absolutely no favors failing the conditioning test 2 days in a row.
If not Cleveland, I think I'd prefer Mekari. You know he'll be solid.

Might as well put Mekari in there.
I'm comfortable with Mekari there as well, but I'd prefer him being a swing tackle and having Phillips or Cleveland at left guard, while trading Powers.

I would too but none of the players vying for LG are as good as Mekari and that's a problem, particularly if Stanley is not himself.
Stanley not being himself is another issue, but Tyree has won the job the last couple years. In 2020 he started at right guard and in 2021 he started at lg before getting injured. I'd like to see the improvement in both Phillips and Cleveland first.

I have not Been following training camp, but I remember hearing that JaWaun James has been trying out at left Tacle. Any word on how he is doing? I know it will probably take some time to adjust as he was mainly a RT and he sat out all last year.
