Signings, Cuts, Trades

Oliver is actually baffling. I'm extremely nervous about the OLB group.

i mean who wouldnt be - even if means comes back to replace ojabo we're looking at 3 EDGE guys on the whole roster
in the past we've had packages that had 5 EDGE guys in on 1 play - we dont even have enough guys active right now to have an interior rushing EDGE guy which is wild

got to think there's more moves coming in that sphere

josh oliver is wild - just cant envision a world in which he makes sense

If Drake gets signed tomorrow and he doesn't swap with Davis, then I believe Oliver has to be guy who gets cut right? This assumes Urban and Means come back.

stanley going on I/R would make no sense to me - why activate him off PUP and force yourself to do roster gymnastics if he's not ready and he's already on the PUP list
I agree. It's strange. Ultimately I don't think they go that route, and really haven't seen anybody other than McFarland suggest it. Though if Faalele doesn't go on IR, I have no clue what the purpose of carrying 11 Olineman is either.

I think we learned some unsettling things about our team today. Ronnie and JK are not super close. Nick Boyle is probably not super close. We don't have OLBs. Idk was feeling extremely excited yesterday and this is definitely a step backwards
I don't think JK is far off. I think he suits up week 1 and plays. I just don't think he's going to be the like 15-20 carry guy we were maybe expecting.
Stanley I'm deflated by the fact he's highly unlikely to be out there week 1, but if he can get back on the practice field soon, I'll be fine with it. Was pretty clear we rushed him back last year, and it backfired. I expect they're taking this more cautiously than maybe any other injury.

Bowser, Ojabo and Edwards are largely expected. Boyle I'm largely uncertain about. Been practicing for awhile, but don't know where he is in the process. Feels like he should be out there next weekend also, but don't know about snap counts.

Was reading through Jeff's mentions and he said if he had to guess (a) Bowser is back once his PUP stint is up (b) Means goes to the PS and gets elevated his allotted number of times leading up to that and (c) we add a guy via waivers or trade. Makes sense in the grand scheme of things. Gives you Oweh, Houston, Harrison, Means, and someone not on the roster for now. And then when Bowser is back, Means can drop off and Harrison can go back to more of a hybrid guy. And then a hopefully bonus Ojabo at some point later in the year.

JPP?

Curious how they construct the PS, especially when it comes to veterans.

Seems like we could have guys like Means and Jefferson (if he doesn't find opportunity elsewhere)

Could also have a guy like Seymour even though he's hurt. Notable that he was released even with injury, which would seem to indicate he remains in the plans.

Would anticipate we'll stack WR heavy, maybe keeping all 3 that are eligible - Polk, Victor, and Webb.

Might also go heavy at CB temporarily with a few guys still just getting back at it. We have Washington, Vereen, and even Worley as options.

Of all positions, OL might be light considering we have 11 on the roster right now. Feel like McKenzie and maybe Sharpe are the only 2 that make sense.

Interesting note here. Wasn't expecting the need for this much cap space at this point. Also would seem the Ravens aren't fearful about Ronnie's long term recover in doing this.

Maybe they're about to bring in some more pass rush
Perhaps. Other than somebody of note in a trade or somebody like a JPP who may require I guess some moderate money on a one year deal, I still don't get the need for this level of cap space. Maybe they need it later in the year if injuries mount up, but it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me right now at least.

Pass Rush or Receiver is my guess. We wouldn't need to open up this much cap to extend Lamar so who knows.

I always thought we extend Peters to open up cap space. Going to be interesting what EDC has up his sleeve.
