Signings, Cuts, Trades

This team should really be hitting its stride of the schedule now. Dobbins is a revelation but on a pitch count. Stanley was also a revelation but really really on a pitch count. Gus is waiting in the wings. Bowser is getting ready. Ojabo may come into play eventually. JPP has been more effective than Oweh already. We've said it all year even before the season started, we needed to weather the first 6 or so games to really even begin to be around full strength.

This team should start trending upward, but all I know is they better try as hard as possible to bring OBJ in. It's not sustainable to be running an offense of just Bateman and Duvernay with a carousel of actual scrubs behind them that do not factor in whatsoever.

I'd like to bring OBJ in as well, but I'm also really happy to see Duvernay step up and I believe he is a true #2. That being said, we need another quality WR and I'm not saying we need a #1 WR.

Yeah every game Duv is showing he can be a WR2. Bateman needs to take a step as well and we know he will. You're right that we don't need a WR1, but if you were able to bring someone like an OBJ in, that would be huge for our offense. You'd instantly look like the Bengals.

Chase, Higgins, Boyd, and Hurst
Bateman, OBJ, Duv, and Andrews.

We can get away with just Bateman and Duv, but it's clear if one of them is hurt, the offense is a whole lot more limited.

I think to people not named Duv and Bateman it went like this yesterday.

Proche had 2 targets with 1 reception
Wallace had 2 targets with 1 reception
DRob had one target with 1 reception
Likely had 1 target with 1 reception

Thats just not really sustainable. Doesn't have to be OBJ, but Eric should be looking for someone to bring in.

This is what I said and got jumped on by a few members. If Bateman is going to be out some time proche and Robinson won't cut it imo.

it's just rough that we're losing guys every single week
the reinforcements are great but we need key guys to stay healthy

I mean he's active because he at least blocks on special teams. It's not like we need a 4th TE anyway, so whoever would take his roster spot would basically be doing the same thing he's doing.

Ultimately, you also can't just IR the guy because he's not playing well. He would need a legitimate injury for that. NFLPA would gladly file a grievance in that case.

Williams is a tough one, because its a long term injury. Like yeah we lost Fuller and Pierce for the season, but those aren't team wrecking injuries per say. Most of the injuries we've had, even to guys like Bateman and Houston, at least on the surface, appear to be short-term injuries. They're not even putting these guys on IR, so its weeks, not months.

Will be interesting to hear what Williams timeline is. Not a super common injury, and it cost David Johnson a whole season a few years back, but obviously Williams isn't a ball carrier.

I'm pretty sure surgery is basically a season-ender, whereas a reduction procedure is probably 2-3 months, so could see him back towards end of year.

That's what I've read as well and hoping for the 2 month time table, because 3 months could also be a season ender.

Good god I’d trade a 1st for Moore so fucking fast but didn’t he just get a new contract? Highly doubt we can afford him but him, Bateman and Duv would be absolutely insane

Was thinking the same thing when Rhule got fired. CMC, DJ Moore , Brian Burns, Derick Brown all possibly on the trade block. Could be interesting

We can definitely afford him both this year and going forward. This year he's only getting paid 1m. Earlier in the offseason I got yelled at rmcjacket for wishing we could make a trade for him lol. I was joking at that time because of course why would they trade him after just signing him, but nows a different story. This season is in the trash, coach is fired. If you're going full rebuild you might think about it
