We can definitely afford him both this year and going forward. This year he's only getting paid 1m. Earlier in the offseason I got yelled at rmcjacket for wishing we could make a trade for him lol. I was joking at that time because of course why would they trade him after just signing him, but nows a different story. This season is in the trash, coach is fired. If you're going full rebuild you might think about it

Before Bateman’s injury, I would’ve prefer to trade for Brian Burns over DJ Moore. Now I don’t know.

In my honest opinion, he's worth a first. The reason is because of his quality obviously, but also that his contract isn't ridiculous the way that like AJ Brown or any of the other big names that just got signed.

Obviously the cap hit is higher than the base salary but it's still doable. Do I think he's worth a 1st, yeah. Do I think EDC thinks he's worth a 1st probably not.

@RavensMania is right we should just ignore this because it won't happen but no it is definitely still totally cool for a team to eat money in a trade in the NFL.
