The Random Thought Thread

DL - Campbell is probably going to retire so this is likely to be a decently high need. Madubuike and Washington have played really well and Jones has shown some flashes, but going to need to add some depth if not a starter. I personally like some of the options in the FA class (e.g. Zach Allen, Dean Lowry, etc.).

michael pierce also here too remember

CB - Could be a big need depending on Peters. Think the money could get tight here and we could be forced to make a decision. Stephens and Pepe have had moments but are ideally more for CB3/4 depth.

with every passing week i think peters has lost a step - not like he's geriatric but he's not the pre-injury guy he was
that may make it easier to retain him - but i still think we'd be looking to find a new starter on the outside to complement marlon even if we do find a way to retain MP - don't think we're going to re-sign him to top money

I agree. Peters is still good but he seems to be getting close to the edge. I don't think I'd want to commit much money to a corner of his age.

It seems like WR and CB will be the big needs heading into the draft.

I don’t disagree. Partially hoping he’s still developing comfort in the knee but feels like that should have happened by now. Want to see how he rounds out the season before I feel strongly one way or another. Feel like the Ravens would like to keep him but doesn’t feel like he’s a sure thing by any stretch at this point.

that is definitely something to consider. I also believe he will be better the further away form the injury we get and the more comfortable he is with the knee.

They play pats on thurs night so maybe he can redeem himself.. their offense suck so he likely get a lot of chances
not sure I'd play Cousins vs the Pats, especially since its on a Thursday. May end up playing Brady next week, although I'll consider it. Hate my QBs, but my team is totally stacked outside of QB, including my bench.

Idk man…i was told that stats say kirk plays well during primetime, its basically just the team that lets him down. I mean he got benched today but i guess it doesnt count

Nobody can tell me that Pitt, Cle, Atl, Pitt, Cincy is not a BRUTAL way to close out the year. With the Steelers, Chargers, and Jets blowing it yesterday Cincy looks like an ascending team that we will have to worry about it.

I was disagreeing with your idea of not selecting someone in the 1st because it’s a waste. We need to keep trying and when we succeed it will elevate this offense
FA not likely to be an option for WR upgrades because there's rarely any good WRs in FA and you have to overpay for them to begin with.

Drafting more is certainly going to happen, just not convinced it'll be first rounders (and we don't have a second rounder next year). Too many other holes on this team that I see as well.

Well it wasn't primetime.
And if you watched the game, you'd have seen Kirk wasn't the only guy who played like ass. List for me the Vikings defensive players who even put their jersey's on yesterday? Or anybody on the Oline?

Yesterday showed me that most teams can have a subpar game any given Sunday. Many of yesterday’s games had me scratching my head, including ours. The officiating this season has been especially horrible and directly affected wins and losses with questionable calls and non calls. It has me questioning the integrity of the game.
