I really think were making a mistake under valuing ILB. This whole trend started based on a lack of talent at the position coming out of college. but when you find a quality player it makes a huge difference. We've seen our own defense has been completely transformed based on the improvement at the position. I'm hoping the organization makes a concerted effort to keep Ro and Queen together.

Ehh, I think teams can easily exploit it. Unless you've got dominant coverage ILBs, which I think they're both good but not great at, its very easy for smart coordinators to force you into brutally difficult spots by going with a lot of 3-4 wide sets. Force you into Dime/Nickel packages and make them cover the whole field.

Far less interested in how well these two do together against the likes of Pittsburgh, Carolina, New Orleans, etc. More interested in their utilization and effectiveness against the Buffalo's, Miami's, Cincinnati's of the world.

Idk if boyd and higgins are #1s.. as a passer, we shouldnt even be comparing the two tbh cause its really night and day. Even with the best weapons in nfl, lamar wouldnt be as consistent at making those throws like borrow is. Love lamar but he isnt up there with those guys when it comes to his passing ability but we also dnt need him to be

Yea but when you watch someone like Tua or Cousins who just has to put the ball in the general area of Jefferson or Hill it can really mask some issues

Its a good thing he played well. He was in for 74% of the snaps!

I can't see it. As great as they've looked, its just a horrible strategy to pay market value for two inside linebackers at the same time. They're going to have to pick one.
Now, theoretically, you can keep them together for two more years. Queen is cheap still next year, and 5th year option is available. Question becomes whether you can afford the 5th year option and how much it'll be.
I think Roquan is the better player and he's due for an extension before Queen is, so I think it'll be Queen that ultimately leaves.

I agree. Roquan just has a much rarer skillset with his intelligence, reading of the game and pass defense skills. He was the key to really unlocking Queen, and if Roquan were to miss some time I think we might seen PQ regress a little.

We won't find a replacement with Queen's athleticism easily, but we could probably find someone for the role. We've seen lesser players like Peanut Onwausor doing alright in the same role when paired with a good, smart ILB. I'd definitely pay Roquan of the pair. I think I'd rather use the money PQ would be looking for elsewhere on the team

Lamar doesn't have to be as consistent. Weapons make his life, like any QB, easier. Some breathing room would be nice considering how special he is as a runner/escaping pressure/passer when moving. He's thrown dimes when scrambling left and throwing against his body which is wild.

Can't keep going out there with defenses knowing he is the weapon to stop week in and week out.

Watched some of the Eagles game and they ran 3-4 WR sets almost at will. I was jealous lmfao
