I still get a kick out of our division rival fanbases calling us Ratbirds lol.

And on another note, @Sizzle , this is why you will continue to speak of Greg Roman's greatness LMAO.

Yes - I have had a great revelation and said that Roman was a genius and the best OC we’ve ever had

It all comes down to the execution by our offence

Speaking of which- tbh- the colour of his beard is my favourite color ever. Therefore, he’s my favourite OC

@rossihunter2 can speak to this change in my opinion

Lamar doesn't have to be as consistent. Weapons make his life, like any QB, easier. Some breathing room would be nice considering how special he is as a runner/escaping pressure/passer when moving. He's thrown dimes when scrambling left and throwing against his body which is wild.

Can't keep going out there with defenses knowing he is the weapon to stop week in and week out.

Watched some of the Eagles game and they ran 3-4 WR sets almost at will. I was jealous lmfao
True.. it will def make his life easier but some think that he will turn into an arod like passer..

Love the big dick energy mocking the Steelers during renegade.

Just like the Titans playoff game in 2020, I'm so glad we got the win after they played the roles of being the villains like this. They would've looked mightily dumb if they lost either game.

He’s good enough to throw 36 which means to me he can potentially throw a few more given his talent. He doesn’t have to be like them. He just needs to be the best version of himself which is a player nobody can stop

It’s crazy how much Bengal fans worship Burrow and how much Ravens fans criticize Lamar. Insane
Honestly Burrow is better than Lamar. I don't think there is anything wrong with saying that. Their not lightyears apart, but I'd take Burrow and a couple other guys before Lamar if I'm starting a team from scratch. Lamar seems to have plateaued, be it injuries, weapons, Roman, etc.. kinda is what it is right now. Cinci is a trash franchise that Burrow brought back to life with a Super Bowl appearance and has them poised to make another run. Lamar was great, suffered some disappointing playoff losses, and now injured in December for the 2nd straight year. This stuff fluctuates, Burrow is the flavor of the month now, Lamar may come back and win a super bowl and everyone will crown him the top QB ya know. I guess I say all that to say it shouldn't shock anyone to see Lamar taking criticism. Much of it is warranted and only gets worse when the rumors start flying about what kind of contract he wants.

I really think were making a mistake under valuing ILB. This whole trend started based on a lack of talent at the position coming out of college. but when you find a quality player it makes a huge difference. We've seen our own defense has been completely transformed based on the improvement at the position. I'm hoping the organization makes a concerted effort to keep Ro and Queen together.
I'll put ILB next to Safety as an underrated position that makes a huge difference if you have a great one.

That said I don't think you need two top tier ones, even if their roles are a bit different. If we need to the money for Lamar then try to trade Queen for a second and look for a rookie chase linebacker.

Ehh, I think teams can easily exploit it. Unless you've got dominant coverage ILBs, which I think they're both good but not great at, its very easy for smart coordinators to force you into brutally difficult spots by going with a lot of 3-4 wide sets. Force you into Dime/Nickel packages and make them cover the whole field.

Far less interested in how well these two do together against the likes of Pittsburgh, Carolina, New Orleans, etc. More interested in their utilization and effectiveness against the Buffalo's, Miami's, Cincinnati's of the world.
Its all cyclical , and the NFL is currently going through one of those changes. Defenses are adjusting making it more difficult on the QB. Big plays are down, scoring is down to its lowest total since 2017. Offenses need to respond by running the ball well or remaining patient and taking the short passes. Feels like that's prime for Ro and Queen to shine.

Maybe. I don't think the entire league, or even half the league, is going to transition to a run-heavier approach. I think teams will become more multi-dimensional and matchup-based to attack weaknesses.

The "cyclical" nature of football isn't just going to sway massively in the other direction. It's all just matchup-based. Teams are going to identify who the best teams in the league are, and build teams to defeat them. We can talk all day about the improved linebacker play, but one things clear... Ravens built their defense from the back forward, not the other way around. We're still heavily prioritizing stopping the pass. That's clear through our draft and personnel signings. Because currently, every good team you need to beat in the the conference is featuring prolific passing attacks.

Here to happily eat my words that I said Cam Heyward would fuck up Linderbaum this week!
Hayward is one of the best defensive players in the last decade and insanely underrated. I am stingy calling players HOFS, but this guy has been Pitts Yanda equivalent. Loving me some Tyler rn

It's the way McDonald uses those positions that worries me a little. The Ravens have spent a lot of money and picks on middle field defenders, yet they line up with them all in the central third of the field, so that each 1st round pick and big money free agent at Safety and ILB only has about 5 yards of space to cover, then they ask the corners to cover about one third of the field each.

As a consequence the safeties and linebackers look terrific and the corners get exposed. With all we've invested in those positions, I'd like to see MacDonald asking a little more from them and getting them to support the corners a little more than they have been.

i mean im not gonna pre-empt what my board will say (although ill be up front and say im never a fan of a 1st round pick RB) - but feel like if we do take a RB especially if there's a CB/WR that the fanbase likes on the board, this forum and social media is going to spontaneously combust lol - meltdowns galore and it sounds like they might not even include @JoeyFlex5 which would be really revolutionary

And then you YouTube “Bijan Highlights”

I would like to see a Lamar offense with Ja’marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and Joe Mixon before I come to a decision on who’s better.
