The 2023 Offseason Thread

O and I forgot... just replacing Roman will solve all of our problems too.

Fuck around and find out.

Sigh lol.

There's been like 2 people who've been interested in DHop. And they've not been saying the FO better do it or else. It's just people want to see the room improved when they said it was going to.

But like you said it's not gonna be a real make over but rather a fake one because Lamar or the FO is being really shitty

We’re saying this if he gets extended, not given the tag
This. I'm one of the two who's interested in DHop. I'm well aware that we don't have as much draft capital as seasons prior so I get it that it'll be difficult to acquire him.

I was also happy that Roman was let go, but I know that was just the first step. Who do I prefer as an OC? I don't really have a preference, per se, but I trust the FO to make the right decision.

I'm trying to be very hopeful that the FO and Lamar are able to agree on an extension rather than being and staying on the tag just so we can get some cap flexibility to make some moves, not splashes.

Make it 3 that are interested lol but we ain't doing much until the Lamar situation is figgered out.

Give it time my friend. Settle down.

Apparently Allen Lazard wants $15M-$17M a year... nope he isn't getting that unless it's a desperate team like Jacksonville who gave Kirk a ton of money last year. I'd love to have Lazard due to his blocking ability but not at that price.

Kirk is much better than Lazard. Lazard deserves maybe 6m

Some noise being made in Cincy about Tee Higgins being possibly traded.
This has been talked about since early December. I think the thought is they won't be able to keep both Higgins and Chase and extend Burrow and want to get something for Higgins.

Yep. It was reported that apparently Higgins wants a very high number.

Even that's an overpay. I think he's Boykin with more targets. He was Rodgers guy, he tried to make him the number 1 and Lazard couldn't get open or make the catches.

He's the FA WR I'm dreading us getting. He seems like a big name, but, as a pass catcher, he's the WR equivalent of Boyle or Ricard. ie. A run blocker who can make a play if the defense forgets about him.

Maybe I'm going a bit too far, but I don't want us wasting money on him.

It's an interesting development for sure. Higgins took alot off of Chase.
Two #1 receivers is a cheat code for offenses. Burrow might take a step back without that luxury.

In 2011, Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz both played like #1s and it carried the Giants to a Super Bowl and made Eli look really good.

Sigh, imagine having 2 #1s when we're still waiting for the Ravens to get their first true #1 in franchise history.

we've had a few #1s

Hakeem was so slept on

Not sure how I feel about the OC search.

Bienemy would certainly be the "splashy" hire though.

I just found out he played runningback for the eagles in 1999 when Harbs was a coach there. He’s gonna be the one. Continuity.

yes, that is correct, he was running back and it's also the case why he was brought to Kansas City. Reid was familiar with him. Also believe EB was a running backs coach.
