The 2023 Offseason Thread

Us paying lamar will 100% keep us competitive and thats pretty much guaranteed.. i mean cmon rmc even a blind man can see that. People that hate the ravens can even tell you that. Ofcourse we will get a quality ROI with lamar lol look at our primetime games these last few yrs, look at lamar jersey sells, look how much he is talked about, idk how nfl businesses work cause the shit is rigged but we should be able to look at how much ravens do in revenue on a yearly basis and its likely been in an upward trend since weve gotten lamar.
Lamar can't be everything if he's always under pressure, can't hand off the ball, and his receivers can't catch. That is a complete and total lie.

I also think a potential sticking point is that while Lamar has proven he can win games, he hasn't proven he can consistently perform well in tournament games. And add in he's missed the last quarter of the past 2 seasons, there may be some uncertainty there.
Oh yea i 100% agree with this but long as we have lamar we will remain competitive until he falls off a cliff lol.. yes we can let him go and try and go another route.. but who knows how long that will take.. either way, i respect both decisions by owner and lamar if a deal cant be made.

I find the Taggart hire at RB coach strange. Craig Ver Steeg was the former RB coach and you'd think that you'd probably want to keep the RB and OL coach in place to help out Monken get the best out of our prior running games.

Maybe they think coach D is sufficient to do that.

Josina said they were gonna make more offensive coaching changes. I just hope they don't touch Coach D or Dubb. Don't really care about the rest so much.

Lamar hasnt been under contract last 4yrs and his wrs still couldnt catch and he was still under pressure for atleast 2 seasons.. dnt get me wrong, i dnt think lamar is the best in lg and never have but one thing that is proven, we have been winning games because of lamar. Im really on both sides…. Its cool if we pay him, its cool if we dnt but when we go out and sign jamies winston who gonna throw a pick 6 every game, i dnt wanna hear shit lmao

With Lamar how much do you trust his arm and that alone?

Also what do you mean the shit is rigged?

I can see that, I guess.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but like Robert Woods is like a high end WR3 into totally average WR2 kinda guy right? Not saying I don't like him, I actually do, just that he's not a turn this offense around kinda guy.

And I know it's very unlikely we'll find one of those guys. So don't even start with that.

Right, but "competitive" doesn't mean winning playoff games or winning championships. Plus we haven't seen what a Lamar-led team looks like when he's 20% of the salary cap. I think it goes without saying that it'll look different than what you've seen in the past.

I would imagine if you looked at the revenue run rate for the Ravens its been on an upward trend since long before Lamar got here, then went down when Covid happened, and now is trending back up again. How much he's "talked about" or even how many primetime games we get is a drop in the bucket in the revenue pool. The primetime game $ is shared by all teams, since its TV money.

I don't think there's a single person on the planet I'd be more terrified to get their thoughts on how the NFL is "rigged" more than Deebo. Like I'd rather be solitary high on ayahuasca with Aaron Rodgers than listen to Deebo's thoughts on the "rigged" NFL.

I think with Monken they’re going to be looking to add a few guys around this talent level. Guys that can make plays in space and have some good traits, not these elite guys every one is hoping for

I dnt think nfl rigged at all lol.. im saying with so much corruption that goes on, i dnt know if any of that shit is even public knowledge like its suppose to be.

Sounds just like a Raven-type pickup to me

Its not supposed to be though. They're not publicly traded companies. They're not required to disclose anything to anybody.

Do you know any private companies that just publicly show their financial statements to anybody?

He's an interesting one. Been an effective chain mover throughout his career that can be a threat with the right amount of space in front of him. More of a volume guy but I don't think that's a bad thing. Not sure he's the game changer as you mentioned, but struggle to see how he's not a clear upgrade over our current options in the slot at a minimum.

I personally think he's underrated, and could be a good WR2 in this league.
