Lamar Jackson

He is a strong word

Dude went 9 for 21 with 123 yards and threw 2 ints.

He did rush one in though. Make no mistake, that early success was almost all on that defense and run game.
Yep, they were a smash mouth team, much like the Ravens back in those days.

It certainly is, but it’s always said for any player.

For me most QB stats are subjective as we don’t know the circumstances their compiled. Safe to say though you generally need a QB that has the “clutch gene” to be successful in the tournament. He doesn’t need to be the best, or most proficient as stats go, but definitely has to know how to handle the pressure of the win or go home situation.

Yep. Stats stand for salt so you throw that away. The best one was comparing Lamar to Josh Allen's completion % in the 1st 4 yrs. Allen had a shit rookie year with a 52% completion rate which was factored in and gave Lamar a higher completion % so therefore Lamar is better. o_O

So many different factors. Like you said "clutch gene". How well do they do 2 scores down. 4th qtr performance. Game winning drives. You can even factor things like bad weather, defensive coverages (man/zone/heavy blitz packages), Jeremy Bogar involvement, player injuries, defensive rankings and offensive philosophy

What do you think about those 2 superbowls?
I’ll have to get a look later, but didn’t the Steelers score the game winner against the Cards on a long drive with like a couple minutes left in the game? I remember being at a SB party and everyone was saying the game was over, Cards win.

The Arizona one was decided on a James Harrison INT in the redzone that he returned if I recall correctly

I always disliked big Jen and thought he was often over rated, but he was a clutch player who seldom got rattled. Gotta give him that.

In one he was essentially in a baby seat sleeping. He did his job in the other. Don't think he's a HoF either.
We count January Joe's early career playoff successes that were pretty similar (and some use them as a stick to beat Lamar with), so why not?

I hate Ben and it took him a while to reach his peak but then he had a long run where he was consistently a top 5 or 6 QB in the league (And everyone ahead of him was 1st ballot.) so I think he probably is a HoFer.

We can forget those rapes either - we know what they do for a QBs value.
