i cant remember the last time a ravens receiver came up big on a downfield throw like the Zay 52 yarder yesterday
lamar put it on a rope and he played big in double coverage - just not sure ive seen a ravens WR who splits that bracket the way he did, and then who comes down with the ball

zay really looks like he might be the one...
Just want to shout out Lamar for the throw because it probably was 60 air yards and it was perfectly placed.

People were losing their minds over the two deep ball misses, but that throw from Lamar didn't get enough praise as it all went to Zay. That was a gorgeous throw and perfectly placed ball.

also that gorgeous slot fade for the agholor TD

lamar had the fumble early, and a poor screen he threw straight in the dirt

but for most of the day he looked in rhythm and was dealing

The last time was Hollywood in 2021. It's been a long time.

Yeah Lamar had like 4 total bad plays the whole game and they all came pretty early. If you don't have an elite pass rush and we're RELATIVELY healthy, we're simply gonna score points on you

it's the fact that, while the score was close, it really wasnt ultimately a close game (didnt stop me being brutally anxious the whole 4th quarter)

that 3 and out before the bengals last TD helped make things closer, and obviously the missed FG and the punt return TD made a huge difference too

it's really cool that this is a team right now that doesnt need injuries as an excuse but can overcome injuries at key positions to still dominate

even with Andrews playing - we were missing 3 of the top 6 cap hits on the team + Dobbins + Linderbaum

and yet their backups played really well - Mekari was exceptional in pass pro, Mustipher held up well vs Reader, Brandon Stephens had JaMarr Chase clamped all game, Gus and Justice made it look like we never needed JK in the first place, Geno made a pick that looked exactly like MW and dont forget Agholor coming in for Odell when he went out too...
To your point about Mekari, how often do we get to hear that someone had Trey Hendrickson essentially clamped up? This is INSANE!

Couldn’t see a lot of the details in the second half(at the ocean and we were on the beach watching/listening on a phone) but LJ improved and really found a rhythm. Take the check down/get rid of the ball instead of the sack, improve ball security…… If he can put all that in a can and pull it out when he has to we should go far. Just got to find some consistency.

was hidden behind the sloppiness in the first game (and all the injuries) - but Lamar found a rhythm in that 2nd half too

he has always been a great passer when he's got a clean enough pocket - the first half vs the texans he was in a blender, but this week he was basically in an armchair - you saw it with a bunch of plays where he was able to get through his progressions and pick apart the bengals defence

but a nice little wrinkle this week was that he was seeing the blitz well - because we were more spread out and because the 5 man protections were working well, he was able to read and adjust to blitzes much better and find the holes in the zone behind it

He had that 49 yard touchdown the week after all the drops against the Lions. It was against the Broncos

that's a great play
but not what i was talking about - hollywood never made catches in traffic like the zay one - he would make difficult or even acrobatic catches but not with defenders around him

he was a great route runner, awesome vs press coverage off the release, and almost impossible to defend on posts and comebacks - but he wasnt splitting a bracket and going up to high-point a ball in traffic - that was one of his weaknesses (played small at the catch-point when contested)

The fact that we had posters in here saying it’s done, Lamar is he who he is and can’t pass is just wild. Shameful display honestly, we have a generational talent at QB, everyone is gonna have haters but certainly it should be a very small minority (<2%) when talking about actual Ravens fans
