One thing about Monken is you got no idea what type of offense he's gonna be running. Spreads one week. 12 personel next. The big thing I want to see is changing as the game goes along unlike Roman.

Big upgrade over our last couple OCs, but has a bad habit of trying to be too clever with his play calling.

He's a good but not great OC, which could work out since no one will be in a rush to grab him to be a HC.

JLC said we will lose both coordinators and we all know he is always right.

I don't see Monken getting an NFL HC gig again. I think if he bolts, it's for a HC job at a prominent D1 school, and I'm not really sure he'd be in the running for that or would even want that.

MM leaving is a whole different story. I again would point out though that a) its extremely trendy for teams wanting HC's to hire offensive-minded one's, especially teams that have or will have young franchise QBs and b) there are other DC's in this league who have strong resume's that good get jobs first. Some of which have HC experience previously.

I think MM is a future HC, but not sold that it's this year.

MM is gonna get Head Coaching offers for next season. Bank on it. I would like to make him Assistant Head Coach and have him Head Coach when Harbs retires just like they did with DeCosta at GM. He is simply too valuable to lose.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Those are two different scenarios. In order to keep MM, you'd have to pay him the same, or more, than John, which isn't going to happen. And if John doesn't have a defined timeline for retiring, which I doubt he does, they're not going to hamstring MM that way. They'll just let him leave, which they should

Then he is as good as gone if not next year, the following year .Bank on it.

More good than bad with Monken. Took the offense a little bit to find its footing which was to be expected. Had a number of weeks where the offense was humming. Unfortunately, he's had a few bad games and they've kind of compounded to make it seem worse than it actually is. Like others have mentioned, it's super frustrating when we try to get too cute, and also think he tries to go the well one too many times. But overall, the offense has largely been efficient and that's a good thing. May not be getting those big plays as much as I'd like but there's an effort there to get them and backup plans to keep the ball moving if they aren't connecting.
