The Good, the Bad, and the Savage: Week 12 Edition

mike wallace played the role of perriman today by dropping everything that went near him
perriman played the role of wallace today by disappearing from sight for most of the game
Both need to play better, I think Wallace was okay today but Maclin was nowhere to be found.

Suggs and Henry played great.
Jefferson and Alex Collins were good.
Jimmy and Carr were picked apart by Hopkins, that was ugly to watch. and I'm not sure whether Jimmy's banged up leg has anything to do with it.
I can't decide what was worse - our offense or the refs.
I'll take the W though.
on that out route to the sideline, it was evident that his leg bothered him, he reached and favored one side as he walked away from the play.

wallace showed zero effort today - he had the deep ball that he should have caught, he nearly dropped an easy completion on 3rd and 3 over the middle, he didnt even try toe tapping on a sideline reception - in fact he just stayed in stride and didnt get 1 foot in despite the ball being inbounds when it hit his hand and he didnt even try, and on one of his other catches he could have got the first down but didnt even try to get past the sticks so went out of bounds 1 yard short (luckily this was not 3rd down)

First of all, I'm just wondering, who wore all black tonight? I did.

But this offense TRULY has me like:

thank FUCK stanley is ok, seriously, that wouldve been season over.

also, lets be realistic here, hopkins will shit on any corner in the league, imo he has been the best receiver in the NFL this year, him and AB are 1a and 1b. a lot of his work came against carr, they clearly wanted to avoid jimmy and exploit carr with hopkins, and i cant remember specifically, but iirc hopkins didnt beat jimmy consistently, i recall a few short-intermediate plays where he beat him by a small margin, i think i recall a play where jimmy dropped hopkins and the safety arrived way late, and then that DPI was total horseshit.

jimmy had the worst game of his season, but it was against perhaps the best WR in the league and it could have been way worse, and they still respected jimmy by lining hopkins up on carr as often as possible.

Just want to point out that we just had our first “come from behind” victory of the year from a seemingly insurmountable deficit of 7 in the 1st quarter

That means that despite this close(ish) game there have now still only been 2 whole lead changes (both in the first quarter/half) in the entire nfl season entering week 13

Take it for whay its worth but at least he didnt allow a TD. And Hopkins is just a 1 on 1 nightmare no matter who is covering him. His jersey got ripped and all. Much respect to him

I’ll say this for jimmy, Hopkins singlehandedly destroyed pat peterson’s All pro candidacy, jimmy might now miss the pro bowl just because of this being in prime time

We just cant afford to trust our offense late in games.

Watch us make the playoffs and all of a sudden perriman and flacco magicaly click
I understand that some fans are homers and there is nothing wrong with that but be objective. This team has ended up with the easiest schedule in the NFL playing one depleted team after another. This is an average team. Period.

omg, we actually came from behind.

This was my first thought when they scored first.

Flacco seems to trust his offensive counterparts as much as most people trust Nigerian princes who want to share their fortunes over email.

Looks like Humphrey tweaked something in his leg that is why he didn’t play much. Please don’t be serious.

Really makes me wonder why marlon Humphrey wasn’t out there given how physical and athletic he is

A couple of plays seemed to be coverage breakdowns, Hopkins definitely got away with at least 2 push offs too but then also rinsed jimmy at least once cleanly for a deep play

It tells you how far we’ve come as a defence that we can’t handle maybe the best wr in the league getting a couple of deep plays on us in this one game when 2-3 years ago we’d be happy if we weren’t beat for more than 2/3 deep plays per game on average

This defence is spoiling us lol - problem is the offence is so pathetic we can’t appreciate the defence more - if our offence put up any sort of points with any consistency I’d almost be able to relax and enjoy our defence

If great defense, great special teams, and a shitty offense get us to the playoffs in a weak AFC conference, than im ok with that.
