The King, the Lamar, and the 3rd Quarter

I’m so happy we not only beat them soundly, but stomped a mudhole in their ass and made them little Brother, we stepdaddied tf outta them.

They are a dirty franchise, they try to injure, and three matchups this year I’ve seen them do it in all of them. They have a real problem with spearing players that are clearly on the ground and the play is over, crown of the helmet spears to the head for a player on the ground, and somehow it’s okay, is it because it’s Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson? That makes it okay? Nah.

And because of this, I’m so grateful that we were able to beat the absolute shit out of them physically. I hope it hurts. I hope they’re in a world of pain right now.

That’s been a hallmark of Tomlin’s time there. Dirty ass MFers. I remember Joey Porter shoving Todd Heap to the ground before a play when Todd was injured and could hardly stand up. I wanted to jump out of the stands and beat Porter’s ass.

Fuck Joey Porter Sr

Anybody else pickup on what Lamar said after the game about not running the ball much in the playoff game against the Chiefs last season? He said that the grass was not good. I wonder what the issue was?
Yeah, he also said he’s grown and learned from all of his playoff mistakes. We’ve watched a super talented kid who couldn’t control his emotions mature into a seasoned NFL professional.

So maybe the Chiefs want the field that way because we have an overpowering run game.

Ojabo is pretty much a joke and that's awful. As we can all see, if we win the SB this year it's because we HIT on Nate and Roger. It's unnaceptable to get nearly nothing out of second round picks. Especially when you have a very highly paid QB. Shout out those 2 guys because the rest of the rookie class is enormous yikes.

Since we’re on a ST kick, Stout is so frustrating as a punter. Had a kick with no returner and put too much on it - too much distance and not enough hang time. Then he turns around and has one die in the perfect spot next go around. Kinda been his career story at this stage… inconsistent as fuck but the good signs make you want to keep working with him. I think I’d be looking to bring in some competition heading into next season.
as long as they can hold.

People blasting Duvernay last year and Harty this year. They may not have been explosive but at least they can field a ball cleanly and confidently.
My big issue with Duvernay last year was he just let so many balls go past him and didn't field as many. That was a frustrating thing from last night, too.

Like you said- I don't exactly care if they get the explosive return (it certainly is nice), but please, field the ball and don't let it bounce past you for 10+ yards more.

is it a big yikes?

or are they just rookies on a very good roster?

No one can convince me that Greg Roman wasn't an enormous problem

I swear to you, no one should disagree with this. The fact that Lamar has been in MVP conversations in both years since his departure speaks volumes. Now granted we improved our pass-catcher situation but still.

Of course he was a massive problem. He held this offense back by not allowing Lamar to audible plays, by not giving Lamar time to scan the defense presnap and by having some of the worst passing concepts known to man
Whenever Greg Roman defenders would talk about Roman, it always centered on the running game and the high scoring offense. If you ever asked about the passing game, they got REAL quiet.
