2025 Offseason Thread

All of this Faalele discourse is wild, but not shocking. He did not have a good night in game 1 and that one rep looks absolutely horrid, but it was still only 12 snaps. 12 snaps doesn't outdo all of the improvement we got out of him last year, even if that resulted in him being more middle of the pack than good. I'd stray far from calling myself a Faalele apologist but I'm also just not on board with acting like the guy is a piece of shit based on one quick preseason outing.

I mostly agree with you, but knowing what we saw out of him the first half of last season, and seeing what looks like a continuation of that, is very concerning. He was tanking games early season, and I would really like to see him not showing the same shit in his 2nd year as the starter

Whole oline outside of tyler and stanley really below avg

I get it. He's probably the weakest link in the starting lineup on both sides of the ball. I'd just offer that if a middle of the pack player is the worst player on our team, we're pretty damn fortunate.

I obviously want to see Faalele get better in whatever reps he gets in these final 2 games, but I'm just not going to hit the alarm button on 12 snaps because we know he is better than that at this stage despite what the masses may believe.

Also, they were really hoping he could get healthy enough to get some reps, but it seems Emery Jones is going to stick on the NFI list to start the season as of now

He's definitely on the bubble.

I think there are 2 spots available regardless of position and that'll be fight between Ojabo, Ali, Higgins, Lowery, and maybe a 6th DL (Jenkins, Urban, Okoye, and Ravenell fighting for 1 or 2 spots).
I think we will keep Ojabo .Just a hunch. 2 nd round pick and now only fully healthy.

He has slicked back hair and likes sloppy steaks, I bet he's a real piece of shit

I'd be pretty surprised if Corey Bullock doesn't make the final 53

I'm not convinced they aren't doing a bit of hiding on Lowery. They really like him, but they also aren't dead set on him being on the 53. It seems they're still in the "is this dude actually a baller" evaluation phase.

10 still seems likely, but I wouldn't count Lowery out by any means. He's probably on the outside looking in right now, but he's at least looking in still.

I guess if they know he’s not making it they can bury him on the preseason rotation and expect him to make it through waivers

Just seems like overkill if that’s the case - and also means you’re not maximising his reps in preseason but heyho maybe he’s making it for special teams (would think he’d have to to sneak onto the back of the 53)

Cole Jackson’s great but he really takes his biases into the Faalele evaluation - he analyses the film fairly but then his opinions are all based in preference but made out to be based entirely on film

Faalele had a shocker in preseason 1 but he was better than mekari last season and improved dramatically through the season… 4 bad snaps in a preseason game does not make a bad player

That being said, it would be really nice for him to have a solid 2nd game just to ease the hysteria

The other part of this, is what’s the alternative? Cleveland also sucked in preseason 1 and vorhees looked good but sucked in stadium practice, emery jones hasn’t practised yet and bullock is almost entirely repping as the 2nd team C
