2025 Offseason Thread

Thank God the Browns FO is dumb as bricks. We dodged a bullet with them not taking Carter.
I will die on the hill that the Titans should have taken him as well. I don't think anyone believes Ward will be a top 10 QB but they needed a QB so they reached for need and nothing is going to change for the organization because he is not a needle mover. Carter will be a game changer for the Giants defense. The Titans will be exactly where they were for the next couple years and that is "fighting for 3rd in the 2nd worst division in football".

Titans were in a tough position tbh

My guy hasn't been able to confirm exactly what's going on, but the Longerbeam stuff is not as cut and dry as it seems apparently. The injury was not initially what was reported yesterday, so it seems there's either some disagreement between the two sides on what the best course of action was, some IR stash magic without saying it directly, or the original injury worsened via rehab or something else. Weird situation and Harbaugh's vague answers haven't helped.

Is mason graham bad? I thought browns were gonna take mike green in 2nd since they didnt draft abdul
Not at all. Carter is just otherworldly lol

My biggest problem with Huntley is that as Lamar’s backup he just was a worse version of everything Lamar did. I understand why the coaches would want the continuity if he has to come in but having someone with a different skill set could mess with all the prep the other team did if he is coming in for a few drives or a half.

Also ruins everything you want to do schematically too

Thought he was ok but he made me nervous as a prospect

Undersized, short arms, no elite athletic traits (not overwhelmingly powerful and doesn’t have elite foot speed or agility)

I think he’ll be fine but he never looked like a top 5 type prospect to me and tbh I’d have been unenthused by him if I had a top 15 pick in a draft

Alright on the veteran S front... they're looking but they're not pressed essentially. Expect a few more workouts and if something lines up, they'll make a move. If it doesn't, they're content with what they have. Hamilton, Starks, and Kane are roster locks. It looks good for Beau too, and they also feel good about Lowery if they choose to go that route. They'd be okay with stacking a vet on the PS as non-roster depth if none of the guys on the workout circuit are deemed worthy of a 53 man spot. It doesn't sound like they have many that they'd sign and automatically make the 53 (in theory of course).

I imagine the fact that Washington is expected to return late in the season factors into the decision too

Hard to imagine lowery making this team right now unless he wins a job on special teams given his usage in preseason game 1

Feels like we’re only keeping 10 DBs since Kone’s injury

I'm not convinced they aren't doing a bit of hiding on Lowery. They really like him, but they also aren't dead set on him being on the 53. It seems they're still in the "is this dude actually a baller" evaluation phase.

10 still seems likely, but I wouldn't count Lowery out by any means. He's probably on the outside looking in right now, but he's at least looking in still.
