Next Up: @Cleveland

eisenberg isnt really making much sense in that article - the browns game is important to win because we only have 3 more games left but the browns game is the least important game we have left on the schedule in terms of tie breakers - if we beat the colts and bengals then no matter what happens with the browns we own the tie breakers vs the bills and likely the chargers and chiefs as well

the only benefit the browns game gives us beyond a win is that it gives us the common games tie breaker over the chargers no matter what they do in the rest of their games... but the chargers tie breaker to me isnt important because i dont see how the chiefs beat them out to the division title
if we lose to the browns we do not deserve to be anywhere near the playoffs

I couldn't care any less whether or not Eisenberg is making any real sense in the article.

I care about the part I highlighted...."IF THEY LOSE IN CLEVELAND...." My focus is on the upcoming Browns game and not all of these other possible scenarios. The Ravens have to finish off the Browns FIRST......then the Colts and then the Bengals BEFORE any of those scenarios take effect.

I'm still pissed from Sunday's loss to the Steelers and probably will be until later on tomorrow evening. But as of right now? I can see the Browns playing the Ravens extremely hard to NOT ONLY get their first win but to derail the Ravens playoff chances in the process.

Come on now people. You seriously think we have something to worry about next Sunday?
That's just....
I don't know what to say.

im not worried because we should curb stomp the browns
and im not worried because if somehow we lose to the browns then we shouldnt be in the playoffs anyway and need the higher pick/inevitable organisational overhaul

This is a classic trap game imo. Don't underestimate them. Cleveland ALWAYS plays us tough.

But given that we're pissed off I expect the game to go something like this.

You know damn well we can sleep on the Browns....AT ALL!!

Lest we FORGET last Christmas Eve....in CLEVELAND....the 0-15 BROWNS win their 1st game against a better team. IF we don't remember history....it will repeat itself!

We are definitely not saying it could happen, but I don’t see us sleeping on them.

The term "sleeping on" teams may mean a lot of things to a lot of different people.

To me, it simply means; playing down to and struggling to put away a team that "you should" dominate. And by doing so, you actually "allow" them to build up their confidence into thinking that they can actually win the game and therefore, they begin to play like it more and more as the game goes on.

The Ravens have had a bad habit of "playing down" to or "sleeping on" the lesser teams and playing big or up (like against the Steelers) to the equal or higher quality teams. The Brown's are desperate for a win! Desperate! And here comes the Baltimore Ravens also "NEEDING" to win this and their next 2 games in order for them to stay in playoff contention and no one thinks that the Browns are going to be an issue?

I agree completely. And fans, particularly homers, need to ask themselves do they really believe the Browns are afraid of the Ravens?

They have won a single game in two full seasons. One game!!!!!! They may not be afraid of anybody but that's not going to help them much. If I'm on the Ravens team, I'm not going to Cleveland to be cautious, I'm going there to kick Browns ass.

I'm a homer because I'm confident we'll make a short work of the worst team in the history of football?

im really starting to think that hue jackson isnt safe despite winning the internal power battle over sashi brown - browns continue to do brownsy things when they should fall into at least 1 or 2 wins a year and john dorsey has come in and may well want his own coaching hire

That’s possible, but he would be smart to give Hugh Jackson another year.
