I'd fully expect him to start over Humphrey since Humphrey doesn't play the slot.

Jimmys ball skills were every bit as bad and he bit on double moves terribly. Humphreys instincts all around are superb, it's not a matter of instincts, it's literally consistency in his footwork and turning his head. If you wanna see his "ball instincts" check out the int he had vs ole miss, that doesn't happen with bad instincts, that play was ALL instinct, he covered the shallow flat, read a play that was 10+ yards behind him, and broke on it before the ball was even released, and made a spectacular catch.
that play he mad was in fact very simple. Watch him vs mike williams and he looks terrible.

You realize bama may have had the greatest defense of all time, and all of Clemsons offense made them look bad. They got hot, it happens.
Also, you're wrong, that play wasn't simple. It was a great heads up instinctive play.

Not long for NFL season. It will be interesting to see how Humph plays. I think he is gonna suck. But it is an opinion. We will all see how he performs and who is right about him. Is he a good or great player or total garbage

Yes bama D is great, however their cbs suck on a pro level year after year and humprey didnt look any better.

So you follow the whole "don't draft X position from Y school because they have had some busts" thought process.
That explains a lot. You aren't really seeing anything with Humphrey you're just leaving it at "bama corner" and trashing him.
why? king's film looked hardly worthy of the 2nd round in my opinion - he was drafted that high simply because of his measurables - he could make the occasional ridiculous miracle play but generally was disappointing in coverage and in run support from what i saw
are you implying that most ravens fans havent seen tavon's potential when he was the starter for most of last year on the outside at 5"9 let alone the slot?
not that many alabama cbs have actually been drafted so i dont know where you get that bias from - kareem jackson, dre kirkpatrick have both been good recently and dee milliner showed some things before essentially being injured out of the nfl...
i guarantee that mincah fitzpatrick will be a success either at corner or safety as well

all of this. not to mention HHCD and landon collins, a DPOY contender and a pretty top of the line FS. im not humphreys biggest fan but for people to just write him off is insane, he has an incredibly high ceiling and has some stuff that you simply cant teach and most prospects simply dont have.
i mean really, when is the last time youve seen a cb prospect who can shed blocks and shatter bubble screens into oblivion like he can? who can cover wr's while eliminating any chance of a rb dumpoff on his side? a cb with his mentality and athleticism is a rare find, hes got that antoine winfield/chris mcalister football mentality, where he wants to break someones will on every play and be a man amongst boys, while bringing athleticism that those guys couldnt have dreamed of, track speed that converts on film with great length and strength that he uses well.
Even if he did suck this year, it wouldn't mean that he is a bust and is going to suck...

Yeah. That was play was incredible and perfectly highlights how good his instincts are, his issue is not a matter of instincts or iq at all, it's literally a matter of refining himself so he consistently backpedals with low hips ready to flip them, and then turning his head without breaking stride. To say he has bad ball "instincts" is just silly. It's ball skills which is purely an athletic thing, and as great of an athlete as he is I'm sure he can learn it with repetition.

Round1 pick from a major program?? His sucking wouldn't look good. And to think he is going to get better, you would need to see something to justify him getting better by leaps and bounds.
Jimmy didn't look good early either......besides he doesn't need to be rushed along.

Dude every cornerback round bust made SOME nice plays in college. If I were to have to bet money. I'm saying he is going to be colossal BUST at cornerback!! We're going to revisit this thread when he's getting roasted like a campfire marshmallow!! His probs are bigger than easy fix technique issues. Then bam he is a shutdown cornerback.

Jimmy showed encouraging skills by end of his rookie year. Although not yet reliable. he was making strides.

Im going off from what i saw. Im just stating the fact that bama is not good at producing good nfl cbs and when i watch humprhey, i see nothing impressive about him.
Are you going by what you have seen during games or by breaking down film.
Joey already listed cb and through in some safeties for good measure that shoot down that argument.
