2026 NFL Draft General Discussion

If the expectation at 14 is generational talent, it's always going to be a disappointment
Well to be fair you may not even have a single generational talent in an entire draft let alone the first round. There’s no guarantee you have one of those guys, period, in a single draft.

I do think elite talent is something you can expect to be able to get at 14. You’re within striking distance, whether it be by staying where you are or even making some trades to move up. It isn’t like going from 25 to 10, although it’s certainly still costly.

I’d rather see Fano fall to us and draft him to play G but for me, when it comes to OL it’s like a flow chart

Do you have a franchise qb? > yes

Is your OL a complete liability? > yes

Is this OL prospect going to at least be a quality starter? > yes

> draftable anywhere in the first round

Trade up for Fano.

Vega finna be generational

To all those who would love Bain like I would, I'd like for you to finish this sentence:

"We should trade up if he continues to fall to _ _ _."

11/12

don't think he makes it past dallas if he does fall

depending on players on the board it might cost a 4th round pick or a bit more

Thinking about how one of the elite players in the class gets to us...

13 players on my board that i'd grade as being happy with at 14 and Mendoza's guaranteed to go 1st overall (and not in my top 13) which means we're guaranteed one of those guys...

1 of them is Mesidor and i think he's going to drop because of age and injuries so you need 1 additional guy to go pre-14th overall to make sure you get a guy you really like - that's probably going to be David Bailey

assuming people dont want emmanuel mcneil-warren because he's a safety then you need another guy to go early which is where you need makai lemon or monroe freeling to go ahead of our pick to give you a shot at one of these 11 players - i think this group of 11 is basically the wishlist at 14:

Reuben Bain Jr
Sonny Styles
Arvell Reese
Caleb Downs
Jermod McCoy
Mansoor Delane (pending testing)
Spencer Fano
Francis Mauigoa
Jeremiyah Love
Jordyn Tyson
Carnell Tate

Right now probably my ideal somewhat realistic first 13 picks to give us the best options would be:

1: Mendoza
2: Bailey
3: Mauigoa
4: Reese
5: Downs
6: Freeling
7: Styles
8: Love
9: Lemon
10: Delane
11: Sadiq
12: Tate
13: McNeil-Warren

(Sadiq the only really iffy pick there)

Which would leave the ravens in the dream scenario of having to choose from:
McCoy
Fano
Bain
Tyson

Fano vs Bain vs McCoy would be tough. The first two would be really really hard

Casual fans would hate edc forever lol.. they rather take a 3rd round projected “ trench” player than a cb, wr or S at 14

based on grades
the actual decision on my board would have Bain vs McCoy vs Tyson
and based on the way my board's stacked right now with those 4 prospects:
1) Bain
2) McCoy
3) Tyson
4) Fano

i wouldnt be shocked if 2 of those 4 are actually available when we pick at 14 but all of them would definitely be a surprise

It's a really weird draft. None of the 13 players mentioned really excite me or keep me up at night thinking we'd draft them. I'd be fine with any of them, and I wouldn't mind if we didn't select any of them.

P.S. My initial draft preference, which I'm sticking with, is Peter Woods. After that, I'm okay with any other option

I did not need to see this so close to draft

lol.. Gah Damn.

I still hold out hope that Harbs had too much say in the draft and it negatively impacted the way EDC draft.
And that his refusal to play certain young players is just him being salty EDC chose them over his guys.

But maybe EDC just ass too. We’ll see how the draft go this year.

2021 is a bit of an aberration due to COVID, so context does matter some. I don’t think it excuses Eric but I’ll cut him slack for that year specifically.
