2026 NFL Draft General Discussion

And in 3 years it'll be the Pickens debate all over again. Y'all complain about Harbaugh being afraid of dealing with guys and wanting choir boys but when it's draft time you want the same thing.
This is different, Pickens is a crashout, lemon is a straight up fucking weirdo and apparently a dumbass.

We never considered Pickens to be any of that, we knew he was a crashout and we were fine with it, a 15 yard penalty here and there and he might fetch us some trade value if shit gets outta hand.

That Lemon press conference gives the impression of someone who’s gonna consistently make bad decisions, be a stain on the organization, and may find himself out of the league with no way to recoup value.

Plus we’re talking about 14th overall for a slot receiver, not mid 2nd for a X receiver.

Cannot in ANY way compare the two in my mind

I thought we were looking for good American football players, not good speakers in front of the cameras
I mean, everything seems to indicate it's far beyond that. He bombed most of his interviews in Indy (Ravens included) and there have been a lot of concerns/red flags around him. He may be a good football player - I thought he was a little overrated even before the combine stuff - but that doesn't mean it translates without the work that goes with it. Plenty of guys that were hot shit in college and busted in the NFL because they didn't put in the work needed.

The thing is, only the teams will have that information, and maybe your friend.
Most media outlets lack neutrality and raise or lower the price according to the money the managers offer.

Judging a player by how he expresses himself doesn't seem reasonable to me. You might not like his playing style, and I understand that, but dismissing him based on how he speaks? That I just don't understand. Just my opinion

I think how he speaks is just the tip of the iceberg on all of the reported issues though. If we were evaluating that in a vacuum? Sure, I don’t think that’s reasonable. But when you add that to the concerns that were present before, during, and after that moment, it raises some concern.

can someone post a link to him speaking at the podium or whatever? I need to see this lol. TIA

I haven't found anything negative about Lemon before that press conference and what the Jets and Fehoko journalists said. But we'll see in the draft

I wanted pickens so bad.. personally, i never care about interviews but that shit lemon did on the podium was uncalled for lmao. When i hear “ bad interviews” i be thinking nervousness, shyness and all the other shit. im 10000000% sure that being nervous or what not in an interview has no reflection on your game. I wish they gave us more insight on what tf a “ bad interview” or “ failed interview “ means to them

Take away the press conference i still dont see how he is considered a top 15 pick. Idk if this class is just weak or what but i dnt see it. Maybe if im a team like the rams, i can see him producing but him just going to any team and balling out, im not so sure

I reckon "bad" refers mostly to football stuff.

The words I heard relative to his Ravens interview were "short" and "disengaged"

To put it another way, he didn't prepare and didn't seem to care

I’d assume most teams reporting bad interviews aren’t gonna fail a dude because they had nerves, probably a lot more likely that they sense a lack of coachability, whether it’s arrogance, or a lazy/entitled kinda attitude, or just feeling an aura of a guy who doesn’t give a fuck.

Like Pickens, he might be challenging to coach, bad attitude and shit, but he isn’t uncoachable because I’m pretty sure he WANTS to be great, he just slips up fairly often in demonstrating that.

There are a couple of prospects that i do not understand the hype around from some normally pretty trustworthy talent evaluators

Denzel Boston, WR
Anthony Hill Jr, LB
