2026 NFL Draft General Discussion

Gerald mccoy said that every defensive coach, player and even olineman said that bain arms being short is a problem. If bain short arms really end up being a problem in nfl, its likely over for all short armed rushers

let him fall to 14 and i'm happy for us to be the team to find out
he's an outlier, but if there were an outlier to bet on, he'd be the one

pretty decent outcome

if we're sitting at 14 with Downs, Mesidor, Ioane and McCoy on the board, i'd happily take a trade down - the risk would be that none of them are left at 19 if you go down 5 spots with 4 guys on the board

if you were to tell me we'd picked up an extra 3rd rounder and ended up with Ioane at 19, that would be a pretty great start to the draft

If we are sitting there at 14 with Downs on the board we better turn that card in for him without hesitation.

I said what I said.

EVERY defensive coach and player? Like every single one in the league or just the number of guys HE talked to?

This reminds me of Joey bosa in 2016, so many reports came out about how teams were very concerned with his athletic testing and character concerns and all that, we were all fired up about landing bosa at 6 because he was falling.

Then he goes 3rd

With mesidor and the age thing… would it be because at 25, it may not be alot more room for improvement? Or we may not see his peak potential until he dam near 30 and in that case, he will only have a few more years left?

A combination of various things
Injury history
Age - less development potential, less likely to provide value beyond his first contract

And there’s always the question with older prospects: what took them so long to develop

With mesidor I think the injuries are the primary concern and then the tape is good enough that you worry less about the other stuff

This class has quite a few dominant 2 down DTs.

I wonder if Kayden McDonald can develop as a pass rusher, he is such a stud against the run, love watching this dude make light work of blockers and ball carriers alike

i love kayden mcdonald
i dont think he'll ever develop laterally to become a great pass rusher but if he can develop a swim when he gets in those half-man 1-gap situations, i think he'll be effective

maybe one of the safest prospects in the class
i have zero doubts about what he can do on 2 downs vs any level of competition

Missing on McCoy for a 3rd rounder and a Guard this is utter woke nonsense

If we do end up drafting Ioane my head would tell me this is fine because everyone seems to love him but my eyes would tell me we're getting Zion Johnson'd.

(Not comp'ing the players, just the grade)

he's definitely a better prospect than Zion Johnson
not the perfect prospect that he's being pushed as by some in the draft evaluation community but definitely better than zion was coming out

That 2024 tape is in the LSU Stingley stratosphere hell yeah I'm chosing that
Interesting comp. If Mccoy is in that space than do it! We have a great DB staff, but also a very particular medical staff. Being in Houston, I saw it took a lot of discipline and time for stingley to get to his peak. Definitely a gamble on the player and staff but would be an interesting selection for mccoy.
