The Andrews, the Defense, and the Blocking

He was healthy. They also doubled him frequently though. They knew the guy they needed to take out of the game with Madubuike down and they succeeded.

Ah, fair. Tough game to not have the stars show up. This might be the worst collective performance from Kyle Hamilton, Roquan Smith, and Marlon Humphrey in recent showings. Even going back to last year. We're not seeing much of an impact from Malaki Starks and Mike Green so far, but I'm also not seeing anything out there that's putting them into positions to succeed. Not remotely to pin it all on Orr. A meme's a meme. And we did just face one of the most talented offensive groupings in football. So that needs to be in consideration. But this feels like that point of the year from 2024 wherein we needed schematic and personnel changes to shore things up. Unless we make a change at a higher level. It may be here sooner than we expected.

Malaki is not doing anything positive. But he's also outperforming last years Marcus Williams. Is it really Orr? Or is it players not doing what they're told? Is it the scheme? Is it conditioning? Injuries?

All I know is the defense is atrocious while full of star players

Yeah I mean, I don’t want to excuse it, but this is a gauntlet of a schedule right now. Hopefully it’s a lot like last year where we suck to start and then start to put it together when it matters most. I don’t have confidence in that at this point, but it mirrors last year to some extent. Hopefully we can pull out on the other side of this again.

But I don’t disagree. I think it’s probably time to shake up the OL. On D, I don’t know if I have a solution. We have to get better up front but I don’t know that we have someone on the team that can step up. And I don’t know if there’s anyone worth a damn available either. I think that’s a roster construction failure.

Shake up for who though? There's no one else on this team better than those who are out there.

The formula for winning a SB is still

Top 10 QB
Top OL
Top Pass Rush

Until EDC builds that team instead of playing "money ball", we'll continue squandering Lamar's career
THIS, THIS, AND ALL OF THIS! Say what you want about Hurts and his supporting cast, but dude balls out in most high-stakes situations.

Difference this year is that it starts up front. We’re not blowing coverages like last year. We’re just not getting to the QB and we’re not winning battles up front.

this roster sucks. We can’t have corners chase receivers all damn day and think it’s going to work.

We don’t have a good pass rush and it’s been this way for years. Ravens are averaging 37 a game right now and still manage a 1-2 record.

Where is the damn defense?

That’s cool , we’ll be 1-4 in 2 weeks unfortunately , I have 0 faith we will beat either of those teams

At this point I don't think Mike Macdonald could save the defense. Our DL is kinda weak, which is a problem because Roquan won't look good with a shit DL in front. We did lose some guys like Van Noy, Madubuike, but that's 2 guys. It is a roster construction failure and falls on DeCosta. The problem is not sure if you can remediate it. It's not like DL grow on trees as impact players are high demand. OL is something I think we could fix if we decide to move on from guys but at this point I'm not even sure that's wise because not sure the chemistry with those behind them.

The more games go on the more likely it is teams find our tendencies and figure us out and stop us more.

I don't like what I am seeing from either coordinator this year.

I could be wrong but the defense felt so unbelievably vanilla, if I didn't recognize the names and numbers out there, I could've easily been convinced that was a preseason game

That’s kind of where I’m at. The only guy available that makes a noticeable impact is probably Christian Wilkins and that’s a question mark for more than football reasons.

But yeah, we didn’t do a good enough job addressing it. I like Peebles but him being the only DL addition in a draft full of them is a swing and a miss. Shades of Campanaro being our WR pick in an insane class back in the day.

I’m far from a Ben Cleveland guy but I’m probably subbing out Vorhees for him and seeing what happens. Everyone complains about Faalele but he’s been much better than his counterpart.
Vorhees amd Rosengarten have been trash. Faalele has been mediocre with flashes of bad. Cleveland sucks at LG. I too would probably do it but I dont see it happening

Not by a wide margin, unfortunately. Mind you, Starks was one of my favorite defenders in the class and it's been 3 weeks, so I'm not even considering lowering the bar. But so far, no plays on the ball. Leads the team in missed tackles with 4 (after having 3 tonight). 8 for 10 against him with that unfortunate TD against Buffalo. He's had a slow start. And it's hard to hear other players praise him for how intelligent and ready he is, watching him and other struggle, and not worry about the calling, you know?

We have played two SB contenders and are about to play a 3rd. So far we are 0-2. This is the playoffs and we are showing we cannot hang.

What are we doing well on D? Seriously, can't think of anything. I thought we would atleast be good at stopping the run....nope gave up I think 200 yards.

Idk another waisted year for Lamar. People of Baltimore need to rise up and let Biscotti this is not acceptable...who am I kidding though. We still have "Nothing will Change" Harbaugh leading the team.

I agree he's not putting it all together. But Marcus Williams was nowhere to be found. Not attempting tackles and sometimes not even running to the ball. Low bar lol

I get it. I just don’t see it getting better by any external addition because those guys are available for a reason. You have what you have in house at this stage. I get the chemistry thing but if the results aren’t there…
