Next Up: vs Bears

Graziano thinks Lamar misses this game and returns against the Dolphins. If we lose to the Bears just sit him out

Just can’t get excited over Lamar being back with this current coaching staff still in place. Lamar will carry us to the playoffs and the bullshit under Harbaugh will still occur and we’ll be bounced without a high draft pick.

The Oline and Dline are so bad I don't think that will happen this year.

When it looked like he wasn’t gonna play and 1-6 and tanking was more likely I was finding it hard to get excited over a rookie top 10 pick. What if EDC misses or trades out?

what reason would there be to be anxious about those outcomes - EDC has consistently not traded out of a first round pick when a big time talent is there - we've had offers to move down most years but Tyler Linderbaum is the only first round guy we've traded down for (and worth noting we traded back into the first round to even get that pick in the first place)

even before that though, other than 2018 where there were a ton of trade downs but also a trade back in to get go and get lamar, they havent traded up or down from a first round pick since 2012...

i know people are pissed about the DL and the guard situation but i really don't understand this EDC hate that's turned up - makes no sense to me at all

Yeah the only real gripes I have are: starks over Simmons. Oweh over a lot of guys, Landon Dickerson and creed Humphrey mainly. And ojabo over Pickens.

The starks thing has yet to actually play out, but most of the others have been obvious picks.

and oweh's the only one i would have questioned at the time tbh
some guys who've worked out that I had ahead of Oweh that year on the board:
Amon-Ra St Brown
Christian Barmore
Tyson Campbell
Landon Dickerson
Creed Humphrey
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (fell for injury reasons)

we think of ojabo a certain way now but he was thought of as a top 15-20 type prospect before the injury - it just sucks that he had a second injury that appears to have sapped most of his explosion - was perfectly reasonable to select him over pickens at the time - i had them graded similarly and had pickens over him because of the injury

and as you say, we'll see about starks vs simmons and jihaad campbell (the 2 guys who had big grades left on the board when we picked starks)

Yes barmore, I forgot to add the name to the post. The OL picks are a bit hindsight but barmore was so fucking obvious to me at the time. I was definitely in on both those OL on draft night especially over oweh, but yeah passing on barmore for oweh, when we had jack shit for DL at the time, felt like a crime.

Ojabo, you’re right, at the time it’s like wow what a steal, but also the redshirt injury prospects have literally never worked for us so again it felt like a great value at the time but the reasons to pass on him were obvious.
