Offensively scoring with Lamar at QB did go down after Bateman did. It could be a coincidence or a correlation. It also feels like we’re not moving the chains as well, although that is based on feeling and no facts at this time.

Lamar just missed that throw by quite a bit.
Sure maybe younger hop can run under that, but he’s never been that guy, you don’t throw to a spot so he can field it, you throw it where he can catch it and let him catch it.
Pretty sure he overthrew tf outta the endzone ball to zay where he drew the PI too.

The Zay one looked like an overthrow to me, you never know though.
Yeah can't put that on anyone but Lamar. Definitely one of the worst passing days from him in recent years.

Andrews had a terrible game yesterday and I will put a fork in him as he won't be back.
He continues to drop passes, runs wrong routes in zone coverage and was an awful blocker yesterday as well.

Yeah. I think the OL and injuries have really gotten to him this year.

He needs more touches considering our line is garbage. He has the speed that Henry does not to compensate for a poor line.
For sure. He's always made an OL look better than it actually is, but when he's not as mobile, it really highlights the weaknesses. No complaints from me on Lamar. He's not playing super well in recent weeks but he's also very clearly not 100%. He's still the unquestionable best option though despite what a few dissenters might think.

He did make some nice blocks this week though.

Even with a bad OL, we were much more explosive when we have all the players in. It's just like when Zay went down last year. The loss of Bateman has stymied the OFF. It shouldn't be that way tho.

i think his value extends beyond the yardage because of what he does early in the down (which is something lots of our receivers are not good at) - and that's also why he's such a valuable redzone weapon - on the 2 pt conversion against the vikings they had bateman isolated 1v1 on the outside with a DB from 2 yards out with the defence spread out - Bate is always going to destroy that leverage and win inside - he's such an easy win there that if that wasn't the called route, i'd bet they'd check his route vs that look every time

The good thing is that he's moved all the way down the leg at this point. He can't go any further.

Bateman has a way of attacking every level of the defense that has to be respected. Without him teams can do single coverage on that side, and clamp down on short to medium passing lanes.
I really wish we'd use Tez more. His splash plays at least force the defense to have to defend deep shots on the other side of Zay.

Yeah. I think Bateman is one of the most underrated route runners in the league.
