Coaching Carousel 2026

Don't know about big mistake but that sounds like a franchise without any clear plan.
Suppose this would give them a decent excuse to just can him in a year or two if it doesn’t work out and hope for a better cycle but you hate to waste prime QB years if that’s the case

I think that's the big issue on this one. They basically just said that McDermott was the only issue on that team. He was certainly part of the lack of success, but no way he's the sole problem.
Good point. Usually when a new HC gets hired, much of the staff gets replaced, save for a few coaches here and there. This feels like it will be the opposite now, which I am unsure will be a good or bad thing for them.

for what its worth
ive only seen diana russini say that lamar and other players wanted kingsbury the day after minter was hired and no one seems to have followed up on or verified that at all

i wonder if that was a little agent white lie to an insider...
If you look at her initial story on how the John Harbaugh firing went down, and then the piece she supposedly co-wrote with Zriebec contradicting entirely her first version, it is easy to see that her sources at the facility aren't iron clad... so I'd take her exposes with a bag of salt...

Holy crap am I overreacting or does that feel like a big mistake from Buffalo
I suppose if Josh Allen really wanted him they have to go along with that considering he is the team, to maybe an even bigger extent than Lamar is here because their newly promoted GM/President hasn't managed to put much talent around him (other than an O line).

In her defense, things have been moving so fast that by time she reported something, it's almost a guarantee it has changed. I've been living that through my guy who has sent me so many corrections.

Damn spam calls....

I’m getting blue balls waiting to see who our new OC will be

Feels like a real question as to why they fired McDermott if they just go and hire his OC

Either too worried they’ll lose Brady or just changing for change’s sake (my concern for them would be that it’s like hiring Dirk Koetter)

Wonder if Josh Allen had a big part of the decision

This whole time i forgot mcdermott was the hc.. im thinking joe brady was already the head coach for bills lol

Such a weird coaching carousel this year. Seems like a lot of teams were very reactionary and it's hard to say they've gotten better.

At least you can argue that the Steelers didn’t choose to be in this position because Tomlin quit

But yeah, seems like a bunch of franchises changing for the sake of change

Browns letting go of Stefanski still stands out to me as maybe one of the bigger potential mistakes of the cycle
