I think that's the big issue on this one. They basically just said that McDermott was the only issue on that team. He was certainly part of the lack of success, but no way he's the sole problem.

More and more, it feels like a spur of the moment reactionary scapegoating

Browns letting go of Stefanski still stands out to me as maybe one of the bigger potential mistakes of the cycle

I think it's neck and neck between Stefanski and McDermott, but the McDermott firing is exacerbated by the hiring of Joe Brady.

I like Drew and feel like he's definitely got some info, but feels like he's veered a lot more into posturing in the last couple of days than anything concrete

I've pushed back on him a few times. He basically committed to this logic that Klay Kubiak staying in SF, which was entirely expected throughout this process, was like the backbreaker for the coordinator market. Which made no sense to me.
