Coaching Carousel 2026

Zach Orr posted on Instagram sounding as if he's out as Ravens DC. So as expected, it's a full house cleaning coaching wise.

I'm hoping he finds success elsewhere, but I'm also personally relieved. One of my biggest critiques of Orr as a player was that his fundamentals were exceedingly unpolished. I felt it could put him behind schedule in his development as a coordinator.

Credit is due for the turnarounds, but so much of the disastrous lapses in execution were indicative of our preparation. And each year, we've had DB go from one of the best at their position to one of the worst. Marlon Humphrey's regression this year after a first-team All-Pro nod into one of the worst cover corners was brutal to watch.

Was never a fan of Todd the in game playcaller, but I ALWAYS loved what he had to say to media. Liked his wierd little tough guy I am gonna say it how it is personality. And he was very clearly always a good guy.

Saleh, Minter, McDaniel, and Kubiak are the only names that legitimately intrigue me at HC currently. We'll see as more names enter the arena.

I really think we already know who we want or atleast have 2-3 guys max who we really considering..the rest are just guys who we are hoping wont get a hc gig so we can bring them in as a coordinator imo

Ive watched a lot of vikings games past two years and if we are talking defense, flores is hands down the guy. He was able to get the most of those dudes over in minnesota with his scheme. Now how would he do as an HC? I have no idea.

I know we only have what he did in Miami to go off, but he was in a horrible situation from the start. Ownership wanted to tank for Tua, so he was told to lose on purpose. Dolphins traded away players to gather draft picks, in an effort to ensure the tank would work.

I think if he gets a REAL opportunity in a stable organization like ours, he's going to prove to be a good Head Coach IMO. Not sure how much changes with Mike McDaniel available for us but Flores definitely deserves a second chance for sure.

That was my concern as well. He was purely a chase defender, he wasn’t exactly a high iq or intuitive player, he just had good range and tackled well. I was surprised he was rising so fast through the ranks because I never saw him as the kinda player who I thought would be a coaching prodigy.

I think Harbaugh just really liked Zach Orr the person, probably loved his energy as a position coach, probably commanded the room pretty well with those guys, and that was enough for Harbaugh to make him his project and once Harbaugh makes that decision we all know he’s gonna die on that hill.

Yeah I don’t have any animosity towards monken, situationally he was so frustrating at times, I just didn’t understand the lack of certain elements designed to help slow a pass rush which is what we needed.

But when the OL was holding up at least halfway decent, he and Lamar were cooking, consistently. He just couldn’t find a way to minimize the impact of our OL this year but man it really feels like there were ways to do it. The lack of play action and RPO just still baffles me

Summarizes all of my thoughts right there. Well put!

Orr was a terrible pick for DC , probably the worst in Ravens history. I'm guessing that Harbs and Biscotti both agreed on letting Orr go but Monken was the sticking point?? Do you think thats how it played out?

I think the argument is that hypothetically Minter or Kubiak would ensure one side of the ball is taken care of game plan and coordinator wise. Meanwhile, with Weaver it would be much like Harbaugh in the sense that he would need to nail both coordinators.
I mean Weaver is a current NFL DC and has called defensive plays for 3 years. I'm not saying its guaranteed he would keep doing that, but it's not like Harbaugh where he'd never called plays on either side of the ball.

If I'm hiring Weaver I'd expect it'll be his defense to run. And he would probably just make one of his assistants from Miami or other franchises his defacto DC. I don't think he'd go target another "big name" at that job.

Feels like a lot of you want coordinators that already have coordinator jobs. Guys aren’t leaving their current roles unless they get the HC promotion.
It would only be coordinators who are getting let go because the HC gets fired. Like Schwartz.

I agree that if Brian Flores is coaching on the Ravens next year, it's either as a HC or not at all. While it's happened before, not very frequent where coordinators bounce from one team to another without getting fired effectively.
