So I was going off Grossi's original post, which was $30M for comp, not $20M. I think he revised it.$20m is what Reid makes, $10m for staff isn't crazy considering the top coordinators are in the 4m+ range. Total control is as you say, a subjective thing. So he's basically asking for tippy top of the market, not really re setting the market and it's a negotiating stance.
The Giants are so hot on him they could cave to that almost entirely.
The reversal of fortunes would certainly be an interesting twist. Would take a lot of putting down your pride from McDaniel for that to work I’d guessI wonder if McDaniel would be comfortable working for Weaver lol
I know it's the popular thing but I don't get the impression they care overly concerned about play calling experience/success or anything like that when it comes to the HC. They're going to pick the best guy for the job, and if that's Weaver (or anyone else in a similar vain), so be it.
Their top 3 targets that I've heard - Weaver, Kubiak, and Minter (in no order) - all are completely different molds, so they're definitely open to a lot of different options here.
Have you heard anything on LaFleur, Stefanski, or McDaniel?I know it's the popular thing but I don't get the impression they care overly concerned about play calling experience/success or anything like that when it comes to the HC. Oh I’m not interested in Stefanski as much as I’m curious if the team isI don’t get the infatuation with Stefanski tbh. The other two are slam dunks imo
Which is another reason Atlanta might be the perfect spot for him. As I mentioned, Atlanta has the players for him to simulate what he had in Baltimore. Now if he wants his own GM, then as you said they have to be willing to fire Schoen.Giants have to be willing to fire Schoen.
I just mentioned this individually via PM, but on the Weaver front...
People fear his defensive success (or lack thereof) but if he were to get the job, I would almost be willing to bet part of the agreement is that he is not going to be running the defense. There would be an expectation that the DC in place is in charge. I was told very explicitly that they viewed his as a much better HC candidate than a DC candidate and that was the biggest factor why he didn't get the job back when Orr did. I don't see that switching, especially after seeing similar themes down in Miami.
They suppose to be friends so it's likely yesI wonder if McDaniel would be comfortable working for Weaver lol
Well tbf Lamar holds the ball too long and too consistently.Reading this article about Stefanski and Sanders and Gabriel makes me very concerned about him as our HC. It’s due to the issue of Sanders holding onto the ball and how he didn’t fit his system as well when we have Lamar Jackson at QB who has been
And I'm sure that's going to be part of the consideration, but it's also up to the candidates to sell themselves at that point. Not many people question that Monken and even Roman had great and highly functional offenses for at least a couple of seasons, but they stagnated and fizzled out and that's why we are where we are. It’s my main concern because I’m tired of the constant changing of offensive coordinator and identity. I would think they would prioritize this and get someone who could solve this issue but I understand trying to find the best guy for the job.
From Biscotti's perspective, he probably looking for the best guy to be able to manage the team/business first and foremost and anything else that comes with that is merely an additional benefit.
This isn’t how I would be approaching it. I would rather think of what my weakness is as an organization and solve that (finding and keeping offensive minded coaches/schemes). The Ravens have a great history of finding, developing and implementing defensive minded coaches and schemes. So I would focus elsewhere now. Maybe that’s backwards but idk.
Haven't heard a thing on any of them, which does not mean a thing either.Have you heard anything on LaFleur, Stefanski, or McDaniel?
Depends where they place their value though. If it's a culture setter that they want and they trust him to put the right guys around himself...that should be a big negative for his candidacy though
like he's clearly got great qualities but if this is something they have to say then that should be close to disqualifying in the modern NFL
I don't think he works for our franchise just cuz his offensive style but I totally disagree about not getting the infatuation he is an INCREDIBLE coach.I don’t get the infatuation with Stefanski tbh. The other two are slam dunks imo
Hahaha it's cuz A blank thinks Lamar is a bum who's worse than D riddler. Probably thinks harbs is a god for taking us to the playoffsFalcons owner is begging Harbaugh to coach his team. LOL.
