Coaching Carousel 2026

It’s happening.

Vrabel beats Roman once again in the playoffs. What a surprise.

Minter's defense held up well, but Roman's offense couldn't get anything going.
The league needs a rule keeping him away from good QBs, the same way they protect them from big hits because the NFL's less interesting when they're out.

You want to run Romanball with Justin Fields? Ok, go ahead. With Lamar or Herbert? Fuck off. Massive fine.

Minter interview confirmed.

I’m not a betting man but if I was. He’s the guy isn’t he.

My guess now would be Minter or Kubiak. Could easily see the FO thinking and offensive guy is the way to go. The last time the team was going through this I didn't care nearly as much about these kinds of things so enjoying the process.

I'm not saying we're going to hire him, but I feel a coach like Flores with an upfront and somewhat abrasive personality is what this current squad needs.

Why do I feel Webb is going to be on the short list of candidates and then end up being the OC for the Ravens with Brian Flores being the HC. I could even envision Mike McDaniel being our OC.

Webb, Kubiak, MInter, Weaver are the guys who I suspect are the current top 4 (no specific order)

I think we should stop being presumptuous about ranking candidates until they've at least actually interviewed them. They're only through like half the list.
Not going to be hard to tell who the finalists are, because after the initial list is done, theyll do a smaller round with a smaller group.

Well now that it’s official we’re interviewing McDaniel for HC, he’s my clear cut number one choice and I will be very disappointed if we don’t get him

We can do what we want to do. If you don’t like it then don’t read

I'm not saying that he isn't impactful in those situations that you point out, I get it. I agree that he's great and he does everything he's asked to do well, even exceptional. I'm just sticking to that's his versatility in a poorly manned DEF. Would he still be asked to do occasionally what he's doing now - reading and blitzing and staying put and getting back in and from the middle - yeah, but in his natural position, with decent players underneath, he would be in his natural position and, imo - Heaven forbid, be even more impactful.

It’s actually the reverse - you limit him by pigeon-holing him as a deep safety

I'm not saying I want a passive coach by any means, but there have been a lot of points passed up in these playoff games... and these games have ended close. I don't know when it got uncool to take the points, but yikes it's been impactful this weekend.

Part of the not taking the points is the field position calculation for if you fail when you go for it - in most of those cases it’s still best to take the points

Yea “ dr rush” and his nickname might need to go

Don’t think oweh’s learned anything new in the few weeks he’s been a charger - more likely this is a product of scheme and usage

Which is still a valid concern to have but probably more of an Orr concern than a chuck smith one…

Heard Davis Webb was extremely impressive in his interview. Doesn’t mean anything at this stage but just relaying what I hear.

the fact that he and nathan scheelhaase have been interviewed at all suggests that the reviews from their peers and their bosses is probably pretty great tbh

for me as well

McDaniel
Kubiak
Minter

that's probably my top 3
Saleh and Flores would be fine too
Webb/Scheelhaase would be exciting albeit i would have a ton of trepidation

This is a critical hire. The defense badly needs fixed. We are nowhere near Seattle or Houston. The Raven Identity has been lost over the last couple years. Looking at the proposed defensive minds out there, its a gamble and there is no time to gamble. Our defense has to improve immediately and enable our QB to win a game after establishing a lead and end the desperation games we have played too often recently. Lamar Jackson can win another Superbowl, but not alone and the clock is ticking.

I agree on your top 3. Even with my hesitation around McDaniel. you can't deny he is super creative and makes guys stand out. Webb is a guy who is interesting. At first glance, you wonder why he is even here. Don't get me wrong, I won't count out anyone but he is very much a surprise guy to me.
