Coaching Carousel 2026

Hmm. Kinda sad Saleh wasn't a round 2 candidate.

Based on no Stefanski and no Saleh that means you've realistically got

Minter (my top choice by a wide margin)
McDaniel (will be excited if it's him but nervous)
Webb (no thanks, just a totally unnecessary hire)
Kubiak (same as McDaniel)
Weaver (would be pretty livid)

Better be one of Minter, McDaniel, or Kubiak.

Maybe the Ravens job isn’t as desirable as we all think? Hmmm

Dude has been coaching in California or New Jersey the past several years. I'm sure he's looking forward to that no income tax in Tennessee after being taxed to death by California and New Jersey. With that aside, it is interesting that would be his top choice given the state of their team but yeah maybe it's not as desirable as we think.

I don’t want Weaver as DC at all. I think he’ll make a good HC though

Stefanski already took the Falcons HC job

The benefit of a HC with an offensive coaching background is shown in results. Super Bowl winning teams have been coached by predominantly offensive coaching background HC for the past 20 years. Yes that includes the McVay, Reids and others. The data is there though and I think it’s about the continued success honestly.

for me, if weaver's coming into this staff, it's HC or nothing

i won't like it but i can live with Weaver as the HC
but Weaver as DC feels like shooting for the middle - low ceiling and low floor outcomes which is a bad combination

Did not hear this one, which speaks to how fluid everything is currently

i mean to be fair, if you're interested in a young offensive guy like Webb or Scheelhaase... brady's only a year older than scheelhaase but already has 4+ years of NFL playcalling experience

flexible scheme but not the most adaptable playcaller in-game which would be my worry a little bit

if he blows them away, would be fine with this hire

i'm actually glad this is how it's working out
they're not being conservative in this HC search

or more likely he wasnt invited to a 2nd interview
This is precisely how I see the “Titans were Saleh’s top choice”. To me it’s less that’s his top choice and more that he probably didn’t get invited for round 2 and knew it already.

That would also mean we keep every successful OC/DC only for a year, two at best. I'm a bit sick of recycling both coordinators at that rate.

Saleh has plenty to improve upon from his last HC stint, but he will get that defense right within a couple years and if they can somehow get McDaniel for OC for the offense they could be better than people expect tbh.

And man, our 2nd interviews so far are a bit uninspiring. Brady and Weaver? Meh

I wouldn’t disqualify McDaniel as OC because he’d be a home run hire there but this is in the back of my mind, bc he likely would be here for one year I feel like before getting another HC job this time next year
