Coaching Carousel 2026

the problem with minter is the OC hire

and i just dont know (with mcdaniel now the chargers OC) where you find that slam-dunk OC hire from...
i really don't want kingsbury - he's not adaptable, he gives QBs simple pre and post snap reads - he'd be perfect for jalen hurts and the eagles but not for lamar and this offence

i wonder if we might tap some of the other guys on our HC list at OC:
Davis Webb
Nate Scheelhaase
Joe Brady (might be available depending on who the bills hire at HC)

or if we look at some of the castoffs e.g. Zac Robinson

owner said that keon coleman was the coach's pick rather than beane (partly as justification for beane to stay and mcdermott to go)
which would be weird even if it was true

but the bills own footage of their draft process from that year shows beane at multiple times during the process talking about coleman as the guy

basically showing that he and the owner are full of shit lol
They could be full of shit but it also couldve got to a point where he was just like fuck it, if coleman the guy you all want, ill just hope on board. He then had no choice to support it once it got to a certain point

If rather have mike lafluer as oc than joe brady.. idk why but i dislike his play calling. If you rewatch their game vs us, that first half is usually how all his games are. Just a bunch of useless playcalling that isnt working

All I’m saying is if we keep Zach Orr on staff with Minter, imma hate the hiring.

I need that man gone.

Having not followed the ins and out of every HC hiring in awhile, there's a sense to me that once you identify your guy, you usually don't let them leave the building (or only for a short time). My best guess is if you're not announcing him by Friday at the latest, he's not the guy. They'll just go with one of the guys playing this weekend.
And I'd imagine Weaver and Brady sort of fall in the same category. Feels like they're just not going to be the guys.
At that point, it would have to be Kubiak unless Scheelhaase gets additional consideration.

Maybe. I don't think you can go into interviews next week with only one guy in mind either. Can't guarantee he won't get poached by another team, as I'm sure there's others waiting to interview. Including potentially Buffalo.

If he's not your guy, so be it. I'm just not sure there's a lot of precedent or examples of guys getting hired like a week after they were a finalist for a job. If nothing else, it's a major red flag from Minter's POV to basically be told "yeah we like you, but we're going to spend another week interviewing a couple more people. Will let you know". Hell I've done that to potential candidates before, and I never was close to hiring any of the people I said that to. Nobody wants to be anything other than the first choice.

I heard this on Bobby Trosset's show....

per Russini

"She says she knows for a fact that Lamar Jackson and those receivers would like Kliff Kingsbury to run their offense. They've shown support, they've been vocal about it. They've been part of some of these intervieews, too. Lamar Jackson's part of these. He's zooming in, he's in touch with the decision makers of what he likes, whho he's liked. Anthony Weaver is going to be in the running for this job, and from what I understand, Kliff Kingsbury would be his OC."

This would not piss me off
