Coaching Carousel 2026

They're down to...

Jim Schwartz - their DC who they only interviewed because they don't want him to leave
Todd Monken - got fired from his OC gig
Anthony Lynn - got an interview with the Bills also but still doesn't seem like a real candidate
Nate Scheelhaase - the only guy worth a damn

It’s gotta be Scheelhaase or bust for Browns fans.

I hope he withdraws too.

If Joe Brady doesn’t get the Bills HC job, he’s going to be our OC huh?

Has his name been anywhere else besides those 2 teams?

Why would scheelhouse come to bmore when he can just get promoted to rams OC after lafluer leaves? Or lafluer could even take him with

For DC, I think it is ok to get a guy who doesn't have play calling experience, but was an elite communicator as a positional assistant.

That’s a rather simplistic take. Don’t ya think? lol
Lol I see you. But no. Minter is the mastermind and the play caller. Now that he has HC responsibilities he can't do the entire install as well. That will be the role of the DC.

This is exactly why I don't want Weaver despite having play calling experience. Weaver was given terrible reviews by his players that he was unable to effectively teach the defense.

That's why I'm making the subtle point that given that the play calling is already in the hands of the HC, the teaching aspect of the DC is infinitely important while the play calling is almost valueless.

I have fond memories of Cullen's Jags D the one year he was a DC. Statistically very bad but still much better than the sum of its parts and fun to watch. Wouldn't be mad at it if it's the choice.
