Interesting insight for sure. I am intrigued to find out where Webb and Scheelhaase end up and to see how the remaining HC slots get filled. From the outside view, Buffalo seems kind of lost and the Browns ineptitude is spiraling out of control.
I am a bit uncertain of what I prefer at OC at this point. I think Webb and Scheelhaase may be my preferred options but after that it becomes murky.
Not really a fan of Kingsbury or Brady tbh, but they do have experience which I do value to some extent. And some of these other interviews seem to be with intelligent and impressive candidates, but without experience, we have no idea if they will actually be any good.
All that said, I also realize that you can’t find the next big time OC without giving that guy a shot.
I’m thankful I am not the one who has to make this decision.

Interesting. Thats what I heard too along with Lamar and others wanting Kliff Kingsbury which I'm not sure he would get. I guess Kubiak didn't impress enough during the interview process. There also been mentioning that Mike MacDonald called the ravens saying Kubiak isn't ready..I have no idea if thats true at all but it's what I heard.

On this point, I didn’t hear that anyone necessarily had a bad interview. Sounds like some guys (e.g. Saleh) didn’t come in like they expected, but no one bombed. Just sounds like some guys were ultra impressive in their prep and beat out the guys that did what they thought they’d do.

I mean we couldnt interview him yet anyway right? Tbh its no way we had those 3 guys over kubiak. Maybe unless minter was their guy all along and they knew kubiak wasnt gonna take an OC job

Having Shula over Kubiak as a finalist is all I needed to know…

The story is that Kubiak is quiet and low key and doesn't have a head coach personality. Though that was the story about Ben Johnson too and that turned out to be crap. On the other hand, he could turn out to be another Josh McDaniels. Who knows?

There is a way because it’s true. Neither Kubiak nor McDaniel were finalists.

Was going to be Minter, Scheelhaase, Webb, Shula, and Weaver. Brady interview was to keep him in the OC running.
 
Brady is solid but I don't think he's special. Though I'd have said the same about Monken before we hired him too and we had the best offense in the league for a while until the O line died, so maybe that's enough.

He has at least dialed down the 'look at me, aren't I so clever' side of his playbook in Buffalo.

I mean kubiak couldnt be a finalist because it wasnt even time for him to get a 2nd interview right? I thought we were racing against the clock here with minter trying to get signed by raiders and we couldnt interview kubiak till today anyway? Yea only i can see him not being a finalist is because of other scenarios. I dnt believe they thought those other guys outside of minter could be better than kubiak

yeah that was a very bad hire. Basically he hired Orr because he didn't want to lose him to Green Bay who wanted him as DC. Seattle was lookiing at him as well.

I dnt see the hype at all but we may think he the best available for the job which could possibly be true
