New 4 year deal through 2022, so now the Redskins are out of the QB Race and I wonder why the Chiefs made this move now instead of waiting to hear more offers. The Super Bowl hasn't even happened yet and this happens.

Can we unofficially draft Calvin Ridley now?

im guessing maybe this player they get tomorrow might be an important part of the deal - otherwise why wouldnt they name the player today...

Apparently the Cleveland Browns tried to trade for Alex Smith before this trade happened and yet again failed in acquiring a QB.

- Tried to Trade for Jimmy G - FAIL
- Botch Trade for AJ McCarron - FAIL
- Tried to Trade for Alex Smith - FAIL

*Off to The Browns Board*

i feel like surely it takes josh allen off the table in the draft because he'll have to start straight away in year 1

maybe they go after cousins and dont take a qb at all...

Kirk Cousins has come out and said that he wants to win. He said while money is good, it's about winning and he's willing to do what he has to, make sacrifices(AKA take less) in order to go to a team that he can help win. Only one team fits that description..... Jacksonville.

The Skins fucked us real good with this trade. Two top five picks and now the Browns wouldn't have to worry about drafting or developing a qb. Add in the fact Gordon is back, they built the OL last year and they have decent compliments on offense. Should be real interesting.

@JO_75 Jax just said they're sticking with Bortles, but who knows. Regardless, this move is most likely making things a lot more difficult for AFC teams. On the Browns they're a future pain and on the Jags they are a problem now. That and the fact Fuller on that secondary will be a bitch, and Berry is back.

I'm thinking Cousins is off to Jets. Maybe Broncos.

Rapsheet said on nfl network that the Broncos are "poised to make a run" at kirk cousins and also named the jets and bills - that makes a lot of sense but im not sure any of those 3 fit with the idea that cousins is going to a winner

he's the biggest free agent in years and yet there may not be that many suitors for him...

this potentially is both a positive and a negative in terms of the draft...

Con: potentially 2 less qb-needy teams ahead of us in the draft in the redskins and whoever picks up cousins which reduces the likelihood of 4 (or 5) qbs going ahead of the 16th pick...

Pro: potentially a franchise qb falls into our lap in the draft to either select and nurture behind flacco for a year (or 2) or to trade down with a team later the in the draft desperate for a young franchise qb (maybe the bills and maybe the jags - now that bortles 5th year option is guaranteed by his injury (or did i make that up) and the fact that they might be franchising robinson)

Don't forget Arizona but thet also don't fit the winner mantra Cousins wants. Unless the Jags decide to trade Bortles and go after Cousins. The Vikings could make a run at him if they think Bridgewater won't be the same after his knee injury.
