Around the NFL: News and Rumors

still an accusation - but just like last time the prosecution have determined there is a case to answer

and given its the same woman as before and the fact that the case only fell through last time because the woman recanted her claims (a common occurrence with domestic violence cases) and the fact that its i think his 3rd run-in with the law in 12 months (or something like that)
I’m just being devils advocate here - as you often do - so I mean to be fair if he hasn’t actually been charged yet and it’s still only an accusation, then everything you just said is “but, but, but”

Until he is proven guilty, you can’t really blame the skins. Innocent until proven guilty dog.

Yes he probably did it, yes he’s probably a scum bag, and when he’s proven guilty you can blast him and the redskins all you want. But until then, I don’t have a problem with them taking a chance. Hell, we didn’t even cut Rice until video popped up, what’s the difference now?

you're welcome to play devil's advocate and in many situations you'd be correct but with domestic violence, sexual violence, sexual crimes and violence against women in general these situations are always stacked against women in a number of ways and legal process is often not kind to those women - so you are perfectly entitled to wait but im not waiting

but you absolutely can blame the skins even so - if they want to let the process play out they leave him unclaimed while the legal process goes on and then sign him once he's found not-guilty or the charges are dropped etc.

as for the accusations - he's been arrested and has been charged im pretty sure - he had to post a bond which would suggest he was being held for a legitimate reason - id have to check but im almost 100% he's been charged not just accused

and the reason im not waiting for him to be proven guilty is because it's the same woman as last time who refuted her own claims in some fairly suspicious circumstances (which is not rare in DV cases with a live-in partner etc. with financial reliance etc.) - he's shown consistent abusive behaviours - law enforcement felt they could have got him last time until his partner changed her story last-minute, and they evidently feel like they could get him this time too

and Rice is a bad example of what to do - the league literally changed (or at least gestured towards changing) because everyone acknowledged and realised just how wrong they'd got it - Ray should have been cut immediately, he should have been suspended for an entire year post-legal and then have a clear rehabilitation pathway back into the league after that depending on the circumstances

and with regards to the skins - im putting them on blast for this pickup but also the way they have responded to the bad PR and their excuses - basically they are showing their hand that they are a bunch of old men in a boy's club who dont think of violence towards women as any sort of a big deal

@rossihunter2 re: Foster, I’m not surprised one bit. Each time they say something they say something a bit different. Lies Lies Lies

The Washington Redskins are a disgraceful organization. Since the 80s and early 90s they have taken one hell of a fall from grace.

like i used to kind of laugh at them for being dysfunctional and refusing to rename themselves despite everything (and tbh i probably should care more about that but it was a debate that began way before i got invested into the NFL so i dont really see anything written or said about the name much so i dont feel fully informed to make a judgement - but it feels icky to me from afar)

but stuff like this makes them go from dysfunctional and poorly run to disgusting

All you have to do is follow the story in the offseason in how they treated th cheerleaders and what they were required to do.

yeah i saw that - but i dont think that's just the redskins tbh - well the seedy stuff might be but the whole archaic way cheerleaders are used

ive never been to a game so i have no idea if its actually entertaining but appearance, body type, clothing, makeup should have no bearing on the cheerleaders if they truly want it to be an athletic endeavour on the sidelines - and if that's not what the clubs want then they have to admit to themselves and the public that they just want to perv on hot scantily-clad women in a public setting - at which point they shouldnt really have any justification for it

i find cheerleading at other sports games so weird as a concept

like it is its own sport...

Blows my mind with some of these people. Honestly if I saw a 200+ pound NFL player the last thing I would do is try to start shit

This is what I don't get. When people play with fire I don't hear people blaming the flame. If an adult burns down their house it's most likely their fault. So now when women go attacking people and get "burned" why is it never user error? If I step to Greg Hardy and get knocked out, how many people are coming to my defense?

She definitely instigated the situation it seems like, but I think he did swing first.

Yeah, he made it physical, but she was far from the innocent party. Though I think there is such a thing as excessive force but nobody wants to admit that these things don’t just happen out of nowhere.

Also that these people are all adults and should all be held responsible for their actions M or F

Completely agree.

The bottomline is he physically touched her first and then violently pushed a 200 lb man into her. That's quite a bit of force which she didn't get up from and then just had to do a cheap shot little kick at her. All on vid? That a DV suspension right there and KC should voluntarily sit him on their own accord.

Lets say she did call him the N word so what. Gotta be bigger than that. Call the police or hotel security or just walk away.

So what is your take on Mixon who was actually hit first? Not trying to start a debate, just curious.

He better get picked up immediately because that shits ridiculous. If Foster gets picked up after beating his gf then hunt can get a job after getting in a drunken shoving match.

I relooked at that video and it looked she was trying to slap him and he slugged her. Hell no he's 100% in the wrong.

Its the video evidence. If not Ray Rice would've played another 4 yrs but yet he didn't but Greg Hardy did.

This has been a rough week for the NFL and we haven't even played Sunday's games and Monday Night Football. The horrible one sided officiating against the Saints to assist the Cowboys, player safety be damned. Then Doug Williams comes out and makes an idiotic statement defending why they claimed Rueben Foster. Now this.... and the sad thing again is they fumbled this just like Ray Rice. The NFL knew about this, investigated and did nothing. Only now because the tape came out, much like with Rice is their a reaction to it. Did the NFL know about the tape and what was on the tape?

How is Goodell not being ousted or forced to step down by this point?
